MJ went 5 of 19 in game 6 in 96. He did get 22 though after free throws.

Even the greatest had an atrocious finals shooting night.
Yeah, well they won that game and the series and he was the team's leading scorer. Try again.

Pretty sure I just spent the past 7 pages arguing with you shel. The best player in the game DOESN'T score 8 points in a Finals game. Oh and he also had more turnovers than field goals made. I think you're confusing "most talent" with " best player." I'm not arguign the guy is talented as shite, but he isn't the best player in the game.

Ok, before tonight he was the best in teh game. But based on the one game sample size, everything he's ever done is meaningless. One game and you think Dirk is a better player than Lebron, based on ONE side of the court as well.

I'll agree to disagree lol.

James took 11 shots.

He wasn't even trying to score at times. His mindset was terrible.

I didn't watch the game.

Who do you think is the best? Dirk?

I said earlier Wade or Dirk. I don't want a mental midget leading my team in the NBA finals.

And Kobe was 6-24 in the biggest game of his life. Difference is, MJ and Kobe competed at the highest level while Lebron had a minimal impact on the game outside of a few nice passes. It wasn't Dallas scheme or aggressive defense making him play the way he did tonight.

5-19 is 5-19. At least he got to the rim.

I'm not defending tonight's game, not once.

So yea, i'm like totally embarrassing myself LOL.

Why do you care if people flame him, especially when he played one of the worst Finals games ever.

Flame the game. Have you seen me disagree with anyone saying he played passive and like shite? Have you seen me make THAT post? Exactly.

dirk's nowhere near good enough defensively to be considered the best in the game

you could argue he's the best offensive player

I think my post in the game thread pretty much hit the nail on the head about what you think about tonight's game.

MISSING: 26 year old boy. Always wears a #6 jersey and a white headband. Last seen in the Dallas area. Calls himself "King" - A.P.B.

You want points I'll give u points. Deshawn and old man Kidd played beautiful defense on him. Deshawn cut his airspace so he couldn't shoot but he couldnt drive on him either. That surprised me being LeBron is an excellent driver but Deshawn put a clamp on him. Kidd played the drive and gave him airspace but LeBron was too passive and didn't shoot the ball and he couldn't blow past him. The Mavs won this game because they finally took Marion(who was getting abused) off of LeBron and put Deshawn on him who was motivated to shut him down and that's exactly what he did.

Just to keep kicking while your down :

you'd have to only be factoring offense.

For a crucial stretch in the 4th quarter, Wade was defending the post. Wade. And doing it very effectively, the clean block on chandler, the block on terry.

dude I think you're one of the very best posters on here...but the entire "I am shel and I make valid points-you do not" schtick is getting old.

1) He's insanely polarizing.

2) It's the finals so emotions are running high.

3) There are a ton of people posting on here.

I'm not sure what you're continuing to look for in terms of a worthy argument, but you repeatedly stating that obvious emotional responses are not sound arguments is getting as old as said emotional responses.

You know a thread is going to be a bunch of vitriol both ways...just ignore it.

and put Deshawn

in the game.

He finally got to play a lot, and he was a huge part of the win.

Fun fact:

DeShawn Stevenson played 14 minutes in both of Dallas' losses in this series.

He played 22 minutes in Game 2, and 26 minutes in Game 4.

shel won't defend LeBron's offensive performance tonight. He will defend what LeBron has done throughout the season and the Eastern Conference playoffs (and rightfully so), but there is no defending LeBron's game tonight in terms of his offensive mindset and approach.
