You're missing the point due to an emotional attachement to the situation. Step back and reread from a taxpayer point of view and not a parent.
Oh, and I pay for both extracurricular activities as well as private school tuition.

If Catholic vs Jesuit was a showcase of how good 5A Louisiana football is ... it's fallen a long way

Ok just spoke with our Ad and principal to get clarification and 5a coming together has been agreed on at some 5a district meetings back in November/December and 5a principals say it will pass. however the official vote will take place at the convention at the end of the month. So maybe some can change there mind? Sorry for my confusion you were right has to be officially voted on at convention. Now they heard that it wasn’t a close vote and a bunch of schools would have to change there mind. While possible our principal didn’t think it was likely.
However apparently there is another proposal that will be voted on first that will allow select schools to choose to play in non select playoffs which would make the 5a vote non existent or not needed. As you can tell this Lhsaa meeting is still truly a meeting of geniuses
If they principles hold there ground 5a will be together

I don’t know how to post pictures, but LA Prep Scoreboard posted this this morning. Shows every 5A school, and where they stood on the split from 2013-2020. In 2013, majority of 5A was in favor of the split. In 2020, majority of 5A is against the split.
I was in high school when the split happened, and I remember hearing everyone at STA talking about how we need a split. I’ve always hated that, and hate how they haven’t changed their stance on the split. Looks like 5A will come back together, but I think it’s a bad look for us to still be in favor of a split.
I do have a question though, say we were in 2016, and STA AD and principal were in favor of a split, but let’s say the majority of STA fans and boosters were against the split, could the fans and boosters pressure the principal and AD to vote against the split, or is it one of those things where fan and booster input does not matter, and they’ll vote however they want? I’m wanting to know for future reference, in case there’s something like this that happens again, and maybe fans and boosters can have more of an input as to what these principals vote on.
