Yeah I'll let you in but you get evangel at their house game two. Guess it makes them both happy.

You guys are right, this issue is more on the court system. From what I can tell the school should have done an elgibility check in August.

from what I understand ECA doesn't care who they play in their side of the bracket....

I know a lot of schools that hold out a LOT of kids in that exact same situation.... whether or not he is a difference maker is completely irrelevant.

just think if this was a kid at curtis...

And they'll beat Livonia but they still kind of got hosed in this. Livonia was a 10 seed before the forfeits and Evangel, the 2 seed, has to play them in the first round? Weird situation

yeah.. but 7 games were either played or in the process of being played - so - if you seed them where they belong.. the already eliminated 32 seed was gone.... so someone else would have been whacked...

lots of misinformation floating out there too.

when it doubt request a ruling before the kid plays...

if I were a livonia parent I would be hopping mad that nobody at school caught or questioned it - IN AUGUST

Now every school ignores the LHSAA and goes to court?

Just the mere threat of it helped Zachary two years ago.

Livonia's in the playoffs now.

Great. Chalk one up for the in-breds.

I blame the school. They should have known the freshman didn't belong when they saw his last name....there are only like 3 last names in the whole town so they should have known he was a ringer.

So you are the one person we should all go to for the RIGHT information? I will from now on listen to you over the courts, lawyers, coach's, parents, students, principals, school board members, or anyone else involved in the matter. Maybe mistakes were made, and maybe people are trying to figure out the best way to be fair to everyone at this point. I'm pretty sure there is no big conspiracy going on. There is a process to be followed and we should let that process play out.

Easy...I went to Livonia, so that'll be 4 last names. It's the parents these days. Wasn't like that when I went to school there. Oh and I disagree of what happened.

The process played out and Livonia was ruled to have to forfeit those games. Sounds like the process was not followed.

no but...

1. can you refute that the school should have caught he came from outside the parish/zone in august.
2.Might have been a better idea to get a ruling from LHSAA in august?
3.the self reporting - was done simply because another school was going to turn LHS in?
4.I know AD's at many schools and not one has said they would have let the kid play - without clearance ahead of time.

please answer questions 1, 2 and 3?

even though you are a coach - I am very certain I know the rules regarding this and other eligibility battles much better than you though... and.. yeah.. I heard some grumblings about a kid at livonia back in october....

Are these aforementioned groups infallible?

Like I said my biggest problem is that NOBODY at the school questioned this in August - suppose he had failed the 8th grade and they simply switched schools because of that? hmmm

no that's for the courts and the state legislature... if they'd leave the LHSAA alone things would be ok

The LHSAA is screwed now, but they brought it on themselves. They let the mob rule with the football brackets and it pissed off the private schools. Instead of having firm leadership, the LHSAA acted with no spine. Now we are on the precipice of the dissolution of the association. I hope they are happy. Oh, and the senator who wrote the bill currently going through the house, a Catholic High guy (son graduated from CHS).

Dutchtown beats DSHS in three. Game 3 in 10 innings.

Dutchtown/St. Amant in the quarters.
