Ahhh. Figured that. It would be pretty fricked up if you went 9-0 in district and didn’t make the playoffs.

Haven’t seen Barbe are they for real
Yes.
They have a RHP named Jack Walker who is good.
Also have a good sidearm closer.
Power throughout the lineup.
The SS is a Miss. State commit. Small guy but he hits like a heavyweight.
Trey Quinn’s brother is leadoff hitter.
Strong hitting team from the left side.
The LHP Adam Guth is legit too. Typical Barbe lefty that throws some funky pitches. Only a Sophomore but, a very good player.
Can’t forget about the LSU commit Brody Drost. Kid can swing it and is fast as hell.
This is the year that I hope we see a Barbe/Sam Houston final. I would make the drive to watch that one. It really is those two teams then everyone else.

Not if your entire district is a shite show. I know several teams that schedule teams in that district because that is about as close to a guaranteed win as you can get. We quit playing teams from that area because we wanted our kids to be able to compete and not get an easy win.

Why don’t you guys schedule tough non-district games if you want competition? That would make up for your weak district games.

Wow and school is out Monday for Easter. So basically one day to get games in. Good job LHSAA
The LHSAA plays their 5A state championship on May 11th after 5 rounds.
We should be having 5 (or 4) rounds of best two of three series, with both teams getting a chance to host in each series.
Game 1s should be on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at the lower seeded team, with game 2s on Fridays, or as the first game of a Saturday doubleheader with a possible game 3 at the home of the higher seed.

Lots of rain outs today. Teams will be scrambling to make up games by Saturday.

Exactly what ED White does.

They play in a weak district only beat 2 or 3 decent teams.

Does anyone want the smoke that Zachary is bringing?

That’s the thing though. In Louisiana it’s 1 and done in the 1st/4th/5th rounds. WM beat Barbe the first weekend of the year. Anything can happen in 1 game.

Assumption played a much tougher schedule than ED White did.

That’s one thing I’ve never agreed with. Baseball is meant to be played in a series. Every round of the playoffs should be best 2 out of 3. But no that concept would be too hard for the lhsaa to comprehend.

the LHSAA is run by HS principals and not sports people... And the people in the role of HS principal have changed from when the LHSAA started. The job of a HS principal has changed and the makeup of people who are HS principals has changed

The final LHSSA rankings are out, and some of the numbers aren’t matching up with Sportsline
I know yesterday people thought they were playing someone next weekend and wake up this morning and according to LHSSA youre playing someone different and the Sportsline rankings are still not jiving with LHSSA

When I looked I didn’t see any differences, didn’t read every single thing though.

Question for 2nd and 3rd round. Does higher seed always host?
Posted on 4/21/19 at 2:03 pm to PacoDeTaco
Not 2nd I believe, but definitely for the 3rd.
