Basile chasing ring #6 in the past 8 years and two in a row. Pretty good run for such a small school wrestling in DIII (1A-3A)

For DI:
I think it’s Catholic’s year.
St. Amant should finish as top public school.

How common is it for a wrestler to go undefeated in high school?

**for a season

Much more rare now than in the past because the top kids in the state now travel around the country to the best tournaments during the regular season.

The best high school wrestler in Louisiana history is a senior at Teurlings and he has three losses from the Ironman Tournament. He is currently ranked in the top ten in the country at his weight class.

The second best kid is from Acadiana. He has two losses from the Beast of the East Tournament.

But Ironman and Beast of the East are nationally renowned tournaments every year.

Morgan is awesome. She's wrestled a little bit at Gladiators years ago when my oldest was first starting wrestling.

that's what I've heard.
I grew up with Morgan's mom.

Before reading the entire chain. It’s always Jesuit and BM. But Catholic BR making a run. Those white catholic boys can scrum.

Sadly, I think this is Martin's year. I was at the Jesuit-Martin dual meet and Martin had the better team; they lost on criteria after their coach cost them points -- they should have won outright. Just looking at how many each team has in the semis, it looks like Martin is gonna start pulling away. Jesuit is gonna need a few upsets to have a chance.

Cooper is a very good wrestler. He’s actually from Basile and wrestled with Basile until 8th grade. Their coach was one of Basile’s USA wrestling coaches and when he left for St Ed’s, Coop left with him. They’ve done well in a short time filling out weight classes and racking up points. Hope Coop can get repeat, he’s in a tough bracket as the 2 seed. Lot of good wrasslin in a 10 mile stretch of Hwy 190!

I’m here with Cooper’s mom. We’re sitting with the Basile fans lol
She taught at Basile for years when Cooper went to school there.

didn't BM get a couple of St Paul's kids to transfer in and they sued to be eligible to wrestle? Or did i hear that wrong?

Seems like a lot of parity among the D1 schools. Catholic, BM, Jesuit, Holy Cross all look very close to each other. Were all the teams at full strength at the Louisiana Classic? Just wondering how St. Thomas More holds up against the D1 teams. Seems like they are arguably the best team in the state.

What’s the best way to watch the finals? Is trackwrestling the only site that’s it’s on?

Do they still have the Bayou Classic tournament? Thinking of taking both of my boys to compete but I can’t find anything about it for 2026

Flo wrestling.

Is anyone from TD at the tournament? Want to see what happened in the 215 D1 final. Looked like Edmonston got DQ'd in the 3rd but the Flo Wrestling camera sucks and I couldn't tell what exactly happened.
