They can’t afford to fire him. Honestly probdbly can’t for 2-3 more years.
Would cost >$100M between buyout and hiring a new coach at a time USC is laying tons of staff off to close a giant deficit.

People don't realize the effect of nil on these football budgets now too.
Most programs are running a deficit

Honestly that seemed like as close to a sure thing in regards to fit etc as a hire could be.
I’m pretty shocked at how he’s done.

Helluva fall from grace for that guy

I doubt USC admin really gives a shite unless the bottom falls out. They’ll just be happy to take the B1G check.

He still hasn't won shite

nah, when he was at ou, he had 50x more talent than everyone not named tejas. i'd say we should of expected this, when he doesnt and cant out talent everyone each week

He took the sunshine early retirement package from USC.

OU fans aren’t. He regressed every year at OU. Bob handed him a title ready team and he pissed it away. When he did that short kick vs GA before half that cost a FG in a game tied end of regulation. Had all the momentum until that. And every year after it got worse than year prior.
He brought a Heisman QB with him to USC and has underperformed. Why anyone expects him to all of a sudden produce a playoff team on his own is beyond me. He may have a chance this year solely because of his easy schedule. But I doubt it

He slowly but surely had worse teams every year at OU
