Not knowing anything else about the teams, I would guess that the level of buy-in and sense of mission/purpose on that Indiana team was off the charts compared to a typical team of transfers, due to the idea of being an underdog kid at an underdog program, doing something that has never been done.
It will be very hard to replicate that aspect of it, now that it’s been done.

Indiana did it with less than 10%. They are 72nd nationally, behind multiple G5 teams and dead last in the B1G, in 247’s team talent rankings.
I've said this for years. Experience is what beats talent. Indiana has an average starter age of 23.2. Theyre ancient.
Miami's average was 22.8 fwiw, and they hung with them. Bama was 20.7 and got blasted(more to it than just this, obviously)

still matters, but before this IU team, no team had won a national title game with less than 50% blue chips (4/5 stars).

Can they avg 24 years old in the future if you get 5 to play 5

Here we go again with people taking an anamoly and trying to make sense of it. You cant. Much like LSU '19, they found lightning in a bottle. It cant be duplicated.
This. Sometimes the stars align and every player is the right player, both physically and mentally. I know IU is pouring money into it but I'm still curious to see how they look the next couple of years before I run around saying Cig is the greatest HC ever

Playing in weaker conferences absolutely matters. Gives more margin for error and preserves you from getting physically beaten down by end of the year.
