I haven't said Smart needs more punishment. But to ban Orr from court side or ban him altogether is going beyond proper punishment I think.

Deadspin is going to do some digging on Orr

Would it be disgraceful for the man to heckle him say, just joking about an air ball or if he had been bricking shots all day?

He has been seen displaying abusive behavior toward college students at student events.

Damn. I hate how the first conclusion everyone jumps to is that this guy made a racist comment

Why would a guy who is considered a "super fan" of a sport that is played mostly by black players call an opposing team's player a monkey? Would he be that die hard if he hated black people?

Different scenario...
I have a 14 y/o son who's plays a lot of sports and competes against all races represented in Baton Rouge. With that said, he hears plenty on the court and on the field of play that is offensive in nature to him. However, if he reacted like this COLLEGE athlete who is likely old enough to vote I would immediately take him off the team.
It seems we are making excuses each time some idiot does something stupid and somehow giving them an "excuse" for their actions. News flash, this will only encourage more idiotic behavior. The athlete in question knows what HE did is wrong and should step to the mic and apologize for HIS actions. He obviously needs to be more mentally and emotionally tough, shouldn't be much debate about that.
As for the fan, he should apologize as we'll for his actions if they were inappropriate. I actually expect this to happen with all the media attention given to the incident. I don't suspect the media will hold the athlete accountable though as it seems they have already taken the stance of "let's wait and see how he was provoked".
To be fair, I have heard the media say the athletes actions were inexcusable but they are saying that as they are saying they want to know what caused his reaction. Essentially, wanting to create a story and worse yet, create an acceptable scenario for the athletes actions. This is a huge problem!
If this were my 20-22 y/o I would be all over his arse about HIS actions, I wouldn't give a minutes care to the actions of the fan.
I would remind him that he represents himself, his family, and the university he plays for. Further, I would be ashamed of the university if they didn't punish him in some fashion.
The athlete should have a punishment of anywhere from 5 games to dismissal, his actions are INEXCUSABLE.

It is illogical to jump to the conclusion that he said something racist. On the other hand, seeing as how this guy really is a giant piece of shite, it equally illogical to assume that the guy isn't a racist person.

Orr has been seen participating in abusive, disruptive behavior at student events, and it only makes sense to ban him from them. This has nothing to do with your son who nobody cares about.

Those gif's of him giving an up yours without the middle finger and tongue wagging? That guy did that so he must have said n***** in this instance?
