Robot umps still have a ways to go, seen many youtube videos of egregious misses and lots of concerns from players in the minors where they have been implemented.

Still better than Angel Hernandez.

I don't think anyone can argue that. The Jomboy video with Kyle Schwarber and him is all you need to watch.

Kyle Schwarber

Never forget when he bunted foul with 2 outs and 2 strikes in the 8th inning when his team was facing elimination in the World Series

Probably blocks Mervis from starting the year on the big league roster?

We're about a month away from pitchers and catchers reporting.

How much would Bauer command on the open market?

Is he not on the open market? I guess we’ll find out. I’ll be surprised if he is a meaningful contributor for anyone this year.

Probably the biggest news of the MLB off-season, the Reds signed RHP Luke Weaver to a one year deal. He only had a 7.71 era with Arizona last year.

NL Central is pissing their pants.

He will get the league minimum since he’s still being paid by the Dodgers

I don’t think so. They will platoon a lot at 1B plus the DH.

Still that's 2 veteran players whose primary position is first base and they list Mancini as 1b/DH, which would be what Mervis would be as well. If you are taking away that many at bats from him, no need to bring him up to start the season, let him get his full time at bats at Iowa and show last year was no fluke.

And if he does and Hosmer is struggling, you can cut Hosmer because you are paying next to nothing of his salary.

It's not like there haven't been countless baseball players over the years that have been violent toward women and continued playing. And one could argue more egregiously violent than Bauer.

But the narrative for Bauer has been so loud that any team that attempts to sign him will face the full force of the cancel culture mobs, unlike any the other folks like say Aroldis Chapman faced just a few years ago.

I don’t think the violence toward women will be his biggest problem. I just think he’s a contrarian a-hole that the commissioner hates, and a lot of GMs will be hesitant to add that to their locker rooms.
