Per @jonmorosi, a potential trade sending J.T. Realmuto from #Marlins to #Phillies is "gaining momentum" and the names of Jorge Alfaro and the Phils' top two prospects -- Sixto Sanchez & Alec Bohm -- have been discussed.

That would be a pretty good return for Miami honestly

He should have gone the Mike Trout route a few years back and signed an extension with the Nats. Even on a 3 year deal now I question if he'll get $30+ million/year.

If he goes short, he will definitely get 30 a year. I'd say closer to 40.

Was I dreaming or did I see a "ticker" about Harper meeting with the San Francisco Giants.

Have now heard from 2 sources that Realmuto to #Phillies is down to physical reviews and 3d piece beyond Alfaro/Sanchez. But I have NOT been told anything is final.

I wish he'd just sign somewhere, anywhere, and get this ridiculous free-agent season over with.

Hot damn if the Phillies land 1 of Harper/Machado while adding Realmuto that’s quite an off-season
With Mets also improving, NL east gonna have 4 competitive teams. Makes me wonder how many wins Miami gonna finish with

If they can get those two then the Marlins need to pull the trigger now. That's a better return than anything I expected.

yea that would be a great return

Which is why kris Bryant turning down an extension from the Cubs and hitting FA as a 30 year old is funny
Though I’m sure he will circle back on the extension after Machado and Harper sign

The #Phillies expect to have the trade for J.T. Realmuto finalized today, per source. Got the feeling earlier this offseason that Sixto Sanchez had fallen out of favor with front office not for injury history but for his conditioning. Yet he’s still just 20 years old.

Sanchez is definitely one of the top 5-7 most talented arms in the minors, but the injuries are a problem. 46 innings last year, 92 the year before.

I have to say that the Braves refusing to part with any prospect capital at all this offseason is an odd, odd development. Cannot believe they are going to enter the season with Foltynewicz, Gausman, Soroka, Newcomb, Teheran, Toussaint, Wright, Wilson, Fried, Gohara, Allard, Weigel all in AAA/MLB plus Anderson/Muller/Wentz/Tarnok/Beck knocking on the door in AA. Very, very risky not to cash any chips in.
Have made only one year signings (Donaldson/McCann/Markakis) so the frantic offseason many were expecting from ATL seems to have just been delayed until next offseason when all of that money + Teheran and O'Day come off the books.
Bowman says they still have $25M to spend with ~$10 likely being held for the deadline.
Do they sign Kimbrel or sign several relievers to 1 year deals in sticking with their theme of the offseason?
