Saw something that Dodgers were willing to offer Harper 4 years at 35-40

its been all over the place. different people have all said 6, 5, and 4

It’s crazy he hasn’t signed yet. I’m really thinking he’s leaning toward the short deal with a chance of going for another deal in a couple years. Also read that Boras was pushing for a 3 year out in any deal with the Phillies.

Bryce Harper update: Some #Phillies officials have grown concerned Harper will sign with the #Dodgers if they make an offer that comes close to Philly’s. The ability to play close to home and train in Arizona both appeal to Harper, who is a @Lakers fan. @MLB @MLBNetwork
lolololololol at morosi acting like harper being a laker fan is going to influence this

we are definitely past this
last year was already pretty much the beginning of the end for him. think i said last may that the kershaw that existed for the previous decade was long gone
he just got a very big red flag that something is wrong with his shoulder from literally just playing catch. he didnt even get into a simulated game, just literally playing catch and theres a legit chance he has some structural damage now
hes probably done
It's over.
The last time I think he was 'himself' was before he sustained the back injury in June 2016 . He came back and still pitched well but you could sense that he was on the decline. Damn he was fun to watch in his prime.

I don’t think it’s any secret he wants to play on the west coast though. I just don’t see the Dodgers offering what the Phillies are guaranteeing.

i personally think that harper is on board with a short term deal that allows him to rehit the free agency market in three or four years. so now that the dodgers and giants are willing to offer him somewhere around that year total, i really think hes interested in either. i just think boras wants the over 10 years and more than 300 million and is pushing for that but with that super early opt out from philly to give harper the best of the both worlds. that seems to be the impasse that they are at right now, between harper and philly
if philly gives in on the super early opt out harper will sign with them. but if they dont it at least opens the door for the dodgers

Late 90s-early 00s Pedro and 2011-16 Kershaw were two of the more dominant athletes I’ve ever seen

and frankly, i am loving all of this drama its causing in san francisco

Interesting how early their bodies gave out but how beautifully dominant they were in the time they had. 2003 @ 31 years old for Pedro was his last *great* year and Kershaw just hit 30.
Sidenote: Awes me all the more how well Randy Johnson came on in his 30s.

To be fair, he's only saying that because that's what Boras told him to say.

@smashmouth
We are hearing Giants ownership/upper mgmt might not be on the same page as Zaidi regarding Harper. They want to offer a long term contract like they did with Bonds and Zaidi does NOT want to. Sabean/Baer step the F up, this is your team, not some slappy's from the Dodgers! @KNBR

Yeah sabean don’t listen to that nerd Zaidi! He’s just a plant from the Dodgers. Smash mouth has got it all right!
