Top 3 third baseman ever?

Man, that's tough. I love Beltre, but I'd almost still have to say no.
He doesn't have the accolades of the Brooks, Brett, Schmidt collective, but you could also say the surrounding talent was a lot tougher in Beltre's time

1st among 3B in hits
1st among 3B in RBI
3rd among 3B in Home runs
1st among 3B in games played
4th among 3B in runs
2nd among 3B in doubles
He gets hurt in average, on base percentage, and slugging
3rd among 3B in WAR
6th among 3B in WAR7
4th among 3B in JAWS
Only 3B with 3,000 hits and 400 home runs

I feel like you could build a top three with any combo of those four and you wouldn't be wrong. Throw in his personality and that love of the game matched by none and he's easily my favorite

The Red Sox have acquired reliever Colten Brewerfrom the San Diego Padres for minor league infielder Esteban Quiroz. Ken Rosenthal first reported the trade. Evan Drellich of NBC Sports Boston reported that Quiroz was heading to San Diego.
Brewer, 26, had a 5.59 ERA in 11 appearances as a rookie with the Padres in 2018. He has pitched better than that in the minors, however, posting a 3.75 ERA and 63/15 K/BB ratio over 48 innings in Triple-A in 2018.

Ken Rosenthal @Ken_Rosenthal #Padres have discussed a trade with #Mariners in which they would acquire SS Jean Segura and RHP Mike Leake for OF Wil Myers, sources tell The Athletic. Leake would need to waive his no-trade clause for deal to occur, and also is weighing other potential options, one source says.

#Indians, #Dodgers engaged in “lots of different discussions,” sources tell The Athletic. LA likes CLE SPs and C Yan Gomes also would fit. CLE needs OFers; LAD has Pederson, Puig, Verdugo, plus young catching. Both clubs also talking to others. LAD in mix for #Marlins’ Realmuto.

Such a dumb trade from Seattle’s standpoint if that rumor is true. Segura is good and signed long term on a cheap deal

Depends, will the Padres eat part of Myers deal as well. Could lower payroll for the M's while getting them a 1B/DH type who has proven he can hit when healthy

They will then have to sign a shortstop
It’s the epitome of trading a dime for two nickels

They are looking to tank while picking up pieces that can help in 2-3 years.
Bow can Segura bring back more? Yes I think so, not sure what the Leak contract looks like and if that's what the M's are really trying to get rid of.

Isn’t Segura a big piece of shite in the locker room?
Posted on 11/20/18 at 9:42 pm to texastiger38
I didn’t think so. I know he had a small child pass away a few years ago and he really struggled that season then broke out that next year in Arizona. If Seattle is truly trying to rebuild he would be a pretty key piece to doing that
I believe he almost quit baseball altogether after his kid died

Like I added, it may be about getting out from the Leake deal + the Padres eating part of Myers contact
