They get plenty of credit. They're the 2nd best team in the East. It's just that there's a big gap between the 2nd best team and the Heat. And the belief in that gap is justified.

I can't see how nobody is taking the Knicks seriously

Mostly cause we saw a very similar series last year in the first round. When the Heat want to defend the Knicks they can't get good looks from three and Melo doesn't even touch the ball. Do they play this type of defense in the regular season? No, because it's not necessary, but in the playoffs their rotations will be much sharper and their intensity much improved.

No...

Lin, Mike Bibby, Baron Davis or Felton, Kidd, and Prigioni?

A healthy Iman Shumpert.

Kenyon Martin and Rasheed Wallace (both will be ready for playoffs)

JR Smith's best season of his career.

Wouldn't be the same series....

Do you think the Knicks would beat the Heat in a 7 game series?

I said in an earlier post no...

My heart says yes but my head says no. But it wouldn't be the cake walk everyone around here would expect.

Come on... The differences between these players ins't going to make up the differences between these two teams. I said a similar series. Not the same series.

Also, can I point out that when your mentioning Kenyon Martin and Rasheed Wallace as possible difference makers you're basically proving my point for me.

The PG difference is huge.

Martin and Wallace were solid this year (especially Martin's defense). They don't play a whole lot of minutes but the minutes they do play are valuable...but I respect your opinion.

I don't trust NY because they don't have a legitimate post presence like the Magic did with Howard.

Chandler is great coming of the pick n roll. Martin provides toughness and playoff experience. Sheed has experience and 3 point shooting.

But Melo is the only player on that team who can attack in the post.

When the 09 Magic had people collapse on their shooters, they just sent it to Howard, and he made them pay (and was a better FT shooter IIRC).

Plus, NY is nowhere near the team that the 09 Magic was defensively.

Again, I think NY makes it to the ECF, but I'm not buying the media selling them as a legit threat to beat Miami in a 7 game series.

EDIT: Forgot to add Melo is primarily a jumpshooter primarily. Howard was/is a post player.

Honestly, it doesn't matter either way. Bulls match up well with Indiana when healthy (not even considering Rose), and have played Brooklyn pretty well this season.

If Noah, Gibson, and Hamilton are healthy for next week, the entire roster (again except for Rose) will be healthy for the first time since November. If that happens, I think they can upset either Brooklyn or Indiana in the 1st round.

If I'm a Hawks fan, I'm thinking what you're thinking. For whatever reason, the Hawks have played the Pacers pretty well in the past few seasons.

Also, the Pacers seem to be imploding. Their past 5 games - 4 20 point deficits, 4 losses.

also, not like the hawks are gonna make the ECF, but playing the heat is a waste of time watching and shite. at least against the knicks, i'd wanna watch and try to get into it.
