When did averaging 28.6 points - leading your team in scoring in 6 out of the 7 games - become choking?

When you shoot 40% from the field doing so and go 6 of 24 in game 7.

If Lebron shot 6 of 24 or 40% for a series, you wouldn't be able to come to TD fast enough to post about him choking.

Pistons are teh only one I can think of in 2004, I believe, and they had 5 fringe All Star players.

Well the Pistons had 1st, 2nd and 3rd options, the order just wasn't always the same, if you get what I mean. I wouldn't count them as that.

The closest was AI somewhat "single-handedly" won one game in the Finals, to my knowledge.

Technically, four all-star starters in 2006. However, outside of Billups, they did not have any really good players.

I would argue Billups and Sheed were both really good players. And Rip was solid as well.

I always thought Billups was better than the other two is what I was trying to say. I guess you could say they had three legit options, but no star.

True.

So basically every title team has had multiple options, but Lebron is a choker and not a leader because he can't win without another option. Got it.

They definitely had no star player, but they had 3 (maybe 4) really good players. So they aren't an exception to the "you can't win a championship without more than one good player" rule.

The '04 and '05 Pistons are probably my favorite team of all-time. Should have had back-to-back if not for fricking Horry.

Duncan is definitely a star. He started in tonight's all-star, despite averaging career lows in ppg. The things that hurt him from being as marketable are that he is boring and is from a small market.

Not anymore maybe.

But odds are the player who many regard as greatest power forward of all-time was a star at some point in his career.
