That's a good idea... conferences shouldn't be paid for their 6> bowl teams...

Yeah, the practice thing is the difference maker for the future success of your team. The money for a lower tier team will be a non-issue or a negative for the school on teh balance - but the practices give you a chance to evaluate talent for next year and work on the future.

If the university didn't support them going to a bowl, then how are they going to a bowl?

University needs to pay. It would be a nice move for the coaches to donate that money to salary.

When you go to a crappy bowl, you almost always lose money, but, the practices are good especially for a new coach.
