I agree. CP3 is the face of this franchise. If he is traded be prepared for the team to be moved in a few years.

Normally I'd agree because you just wouldn't get fair value. But to the Nets getting Paul could be the difference between a top free agent or a 2nd tier free agent. Basically having CP3 and LeBron vs. Devin Harris and Joe Johnson. At the lottery the Nets new owner talked about wanting to turn the team into a global brand. He needs superstars to do that, not all stars. That means he might value what Paul brings more than others would.

I've seen one variation of the trade that brings Indy into the picture and they get Devin Harris and we get their #10. #3, #10, Lopez and a role player (Lee/Williams) for CP3 and Okafor. How do you turn that down if it gets offered? You'd have DC, Thornton, West, Lopez, Lee/Williams plus #3, #10, #11

The Nets have a few other pieces the Hornets might want, perhaps Yi Jianlian, Courtney Lee or the talented, if erratic, Terrence Williams.

yeh, his trade idea is pretty bad. If we do trade Chris to NJ I would hope that we'd at least take Lopez and the number 3 pick.

on the court

lbj and cp3 dominate the ball to be effective

lopez and the #3 isn't really bad value for cp3

we clear cap space, get a great young big, and a top 3 pick. it's a lot better than most hornetards would admit

CP3 and Bosh would probably be the better fit. Not quite as much star power but still pretty good and probably more contention worthy.

What about the following trades: DC and West, or DC and West and our 2nd round pic, or DC and West and Posey for Lopez and their #3.

I mean your right that they both like the ball in their hands. But it is two guys that have swallowed their pride for the better good for the olympics team before.

CP3 didn't win in college hasn't win in the pros. His best player he's played with is Dwest, and LeBron is probably sick of all the second rate players Cleveland has surrounded him with.

I'm sure the offense would be an up tempo offense as well.

It was really just an example. Like the could sign Bosh then sign and trade for Johnson using Harris and Dooling

or they could sign Gay, Sign and trade for Bosh using Harris and Dooling

they could sign LBJ, sign and trade for Lee again using Harris and Dooling.

Harris is obviously a talent and Dooling's contract I believe is expiring and around 4. But I keep reading on Nets boards that they can buy him out for 500K.

only way to get a legit big like lopez and the third pick, you gotta give up the Star. Not the Robins but the batman

I think you're putting that nicely.

It's clear cut that the Hornets will never be able to put the right pieces around Chris. He is GONE in 2 years.

You get a top 3 pick and a top 5 center back in return ( only 22 years old). You couple those with getting rid of your worst contract on the team and two young guys who performed temremendous for you
