I just made fun of slackster in the CJ Stroud thread because he usually advocates for this when it comes up. This somehow became an analytics thing a few years ago. Doug Pederson seemed to do it a lot.

The math says it’s one of the best times to go for 2 if you’re playing to win. Theory is you can go for 2 again if you miss, but you’re golden if you get it the first time.

It’s the NFL, teams play hard all 60 minutes quite often.
