I think we got a pretty good haul for Lindholm.
Man.
Giordano, Tkachuk, Gaudreau, Lindholm, Monahan. All gone. End of an era.

Sean Monahan was traded to the Winnipeg Jets by the Montreal Canadiens on Friday.

Todd McLellan was fired as coach of the Los Angeles Kings on Friday and replaced by Jim Hiller on an interim basis.
The Kings (23-15-10) are fourth in the Pacific Division and hold the first wild card into the Stanley Cup Playoffs from the Western Conference, but are 3-8-6 in their past 17 games after beginning the season 20-7-4.

The in-season 2025 NHL 4 Nations Face-Off will consist of a total of seven games played during a nine-day period from Feb. 12-20, along with two practice days, Feb. 10-11, and will be held in two yet-to-be named North American cities, one in Canada and one in the United States.
Each team at the 4 Nations Face-Off will be comprised of 23 NHL players (20 skaters, three goalies) selected by each National Association: Hockey Canada, Finnish Ice Hockey Association, Swedish Ice Hockey Association and USA Hockey.

The Commissioner also announced the NHL will return to Olympic participation, starting in 2026 in Milan, Italy, and again in 2030, with the host for the 2030 Olympics expected to be chosen later this year by the International Olympic Committee.

So are they planning on doing this instead of all-star weekend?
Really glad to see NHLers back for the Olympics too.

Yes. No All Star Game next year.

The Oilers have won 16 in a row, and still trail the Canucks by 12 pts.
they have 4 games in hand, though. Will be an exciting 2nd half of the season in the pacific.
no real surprises anywhere else... except for the Flyers and Red Wings holding playoff spots. They are both at 50 games played though, and the flyers have lost their last 5

It's about time the Blue Jackets get an outdoors game.

The Winter Classic will return to Chicago next season. The Blackhawks will host the NHL’s annual premier outdoor game at Wrigley Field against the Blues in 2024-25, a source told the Sun-Times on Tuesday.

Multiple sources have reached out to THN Columbus and told us that the Blue Jackets will be hosting a 2025 NHL Stadium Series game at Ohio Stadium. The team they would play is rumored to be the Detroit Red Wings.

Oilers winning streak is over.

Avalanche losing 4-0 to Florida in third
This will be 4th straight loss since the break on the east coast road trip only 1 point 4 games. Very bad.

Blues beat Oilers. This team is finally showing some life.

3 points in 6 games on the trip is VERY concerning. While I don’t think tonight was Juice’s fault at all (I don’t think he could get blamed for any of the 4 past him), I think it’s becoming more clear we likely do need to get a better B option at goalie to make a run. Also, this whole 2C situation REALLY needs to be addressed soon.
And while I always just thought of him as a fan favorite who played hard as hell, I’d almost do anything to get Jimothy Timothy back.
EDIT: my thought is JT at 2C when Val comes (hopefully) back bolsters the top two lines significantly better, and RyJo’s production is semi-okay at 3C. We’d move on soon from the RyJo project, but at least we could’ve made it work this year.

No, but I thought the whole uniform looked really sharp on the ice.

Better stock up on uniforms soon before the Fanatics circus fricks them up next year.

Preds are such a train wreck right now.
Will never happen but we all want Brunette fired and Karl Taylor promoted from Milwaukee.

Kings and Bruins tied at 4 in OT.
Kings win 5-4.

Dallas Oilers good so far
Was 1-0 I went to take a shower and it was 2-2
Then Dallas kills off a 5 on 3 for nearly two minutes
