Another awful call. The play was blown dead well before Clemson picked the ball up (to give it to the ref) so can't just assume Clemson would have recovered it even though it is very likely.

I think they simply assumed a Clemson player recovered it immediately. They didnt actually watch the play which shows the ball laid on the ground for about 6 seconds
