St. Charles
St Charles was officially bumped up to 3A this upcoming season They are one of the smallest 3A schools with an enrollment slightly above 400 students. The 3A schools have a range of roughly 400-600 students.
They technically chose to play up to 4A for competitive purposes.

St. Charles will play in Class 4A for the first time, a move up after St. Charles played the past five seasons in Class 2A and in the Division III playoff bracket.
Are they playing up or has their enrollment increased wildly?

The senior class they have right now will be one of the best they’ve had in a while. A lot of farm bred athletes. I’d also bet this is cooks last year
Im with you. I had a conversation with him not too long ago about the team this year and he let something slip along the lines of "I want to go out on a high note". Now whether or not that is still the case if they have an early exit in the playoffs is another question
Just wanted to bump this thread after talking with some people at ND. Supposedly Cook conveyed to some of the assistant coaches that he now has no intention to retire anytime soon. ND definitely had a disappointing season record wise, but the schedule ended up shaping out to be absolutely brutal (Teurlings, Catholic NI, Cecilia, and Jennings) and two of those games (Cecilia and Jennings) were lost by 4 points and 1 point. This was the best team they've had in a while and will probably be the best they have for a while. I think Cook really wants to end his career with a championship that, in all honesty, probably won't come

I don’t follow high school football, but that Solarie kid is a flat out stud.

Yeah in division 3 select Notre Dame will have almost no chance of ever winning a title. Between Dunham, Newman, Calvary, LCA and even Catholic NI it’s a tough division.

That's the sentiment among most people at the school. The reality is ND has failed to develop players at the same level as many of these other schools. Cook is a heavy believer in running the ball and stopping the run. For years he had guys big enough to to do that successfully, however, football in general has changed. Its hard to win games throwing the ball max 10 times a game, and they unfortunately don't have the athletes at DB that are tall or fast enough to keep up with the athletes on the outside at other schools

Yep, you either adapt or get passed by. Cook is a legend and whatever happens the rest of his career will have no negative effect on his whole career. The run he had in the early 2000s with his scheme was unstoppable
