I'm glad you decided to watch tonight. Once you get to know the rules, the players, and the personalities and back-stories thereof, it becomes REALLY entertaining. Tennis is one of those sports where you can watch, love, follow, and all the while be entranced because you know about them, about their game, and at the least about the competitiveness of every match.
Never a dull moment during the matches and they're pretty frequent throughout the year. Not to mention 3 out of the 4 majors gives you a reason to have a beer guilt-free til all hours of the night/morning.
Majors are the 4 major tournaments in a year. US Open, Wimbledon (in England), Australian Open, and French Open...all of which are about 2 weeks worth of coverage each.

Enter Bella with her Bloody Mary. This was a great way to lessen the blow of football season ending.

And each of the grand slams is a different surface... Wimbeldon is grass (very slow and low bounce), French is clay, and US Open and Australian have different forms of hard courts (very fast). So each player's style is impacted by the surface.
