I want to say that line opened at 10, so it may be on the way up.

Houston has been fricking atrocious but an interesting stat pertaining to BYU ATS.

BYU is 6-26 against the spread in their last 32 games following 2 consecutive road games.

Furthermore, BYU is 2-11 ATS in their last 13 games following two consecutive road wins.

Love this one - TAMU doesn't play a meaningful game until the end of the month.

Just something to keep in mind, Sumlin and David Bailiff are very good friends going back through years of coaching. A&M could easily hang 60+ and Sumlin usually keeps his foot on the gas but I'd be shocked if he's willing to keep running the score up in this game.

I'm not touching the game just cause it's A&M but I'd fear the backdoor cover in this one. Something like 49-24 final after being 35-10 at halftime wouldn't shock me.

Rice covered last year, although that was a better Rice offense and a much worse Aggie defense. I think the 1H line is the only play here, if anything at all.

OU is going to rape Tenn. Not sure if anyone else has seen the article on ESPN but their has been some bad blood between the SEC and Stoops. Apparently all that Stoops has been hearing is how SEC is king and dominates the NCAA (which they do). But Stoops stated they are not any better than his team and so on. He will beat UT as bad as he possibly can.

Exactly why I am on Oklahoma -20.5

Stoops wants to make an example out of Tennessee, nothing will be held back

No doubt about it. Stoops has for awhile despised the attention the SEC gets. If he has the chance to humiliate an SEC team, he will.

North Texas down to -3.5 (opened -6.5). If it gets to -3, I may take it.

Tech is running high after that win against ULL, but if I can get 3.5 points of value for a home team, I'll take it.

I can't bring myself to bet on that terrible UNT offense. I still think LTech at +3.5 is a better bet but I understand your value for a home team point and the fact that its a Thursday night game.

This is why I read this thread, not betting that game

It may not amount to anything at all, because I don't think Rice is near the same team they were last year, but just trying to shed some light on dynamics other than stats.

Direct quote from Sumlin's PC on Monday...
quote:

David Bailiff and I are good friends. We were neighbors, pretty much, lived in the same neighborhood. When I was a coordinator here in 2001, long time ago, he was the defensive coordinator at TCU. We were doing some things differently offensively and it was the beginning, really, of the 4-2-5 and I didn't understand that, so we'd have some late-night talks after games and then not long after that we're playing each other for the Bayou Bucket and living near each other.

Well when I bet I try to know as much as I can, and if something could have an impact I definitely want to know. If I had to bet that game I'd still bet A&M, but knowing that I think I'll just stay away.

Plus the more I think about it, the more obvious OU -20.5 becomes.
Stoops seems to make a comment against the SEC every year, I'm sure he is going to run it up as much as he can
