I'm not necessarily basing Tressel's ability to develop his players into studs based off stars. I just mentioned the 3 star players becuase they are usually consider "average" recruits... nothing bad but nothing special. Of course each recruit has the potential to develop into a stud. But what I'm saying is Tressel has a knack of taking recruits who weren't raved about in the recruiting world and turns them into top knotch college football players and first round NFL draft picks.

My point was OSU doesn't rebuild, they reload. If you think they're "melting" you seriously don't know shite about college football. The recruiting classes Tressel continues to bring in are loaded. The freshmen class is freakishly loaded.

Ok, then what is up with all this "we were rebuilding last year" crap? "We didn't expect to be but third in the L11"

But top to bottom they lack the talent the only the south can provide. TX,LA,MS,GA,AL and FL have 2 and 3 star kids that would be 4 or 5 stars up there. It is the level of comp. that seperates these kids

Is this based on some secret knowledge you have unknown to college coaches who recruit the Midwest and California or NFL scouts who draft from the Big Ten and Pac 10 more than the SEC? Then why does the Pac 10 put more kids into the pros?

You could find any 4 or 5 star bust anywhere

Because thats what the majority of OSU fans were expecting. All of the OSU boards were filled with fans expecting a 2-3 loss season. I remember alot of fans thought the Washington game would be a barn burner. We had a first year QB, a totally different style of offense, we lost our playmakers, had way less experience of the offense side of the ball, and we lost the strength of our defense... our DTs. I remember going to a party on campus the week we moved up to #1. Campus was nuts. No one expected it going into the season. Most Buckeye fans are expecting it this year.

Funny how easily I did that. Hopefully it works out the same.

If the south is loaded with so much talent then why is the florida 4a player of the year attending a D3 school this season. Doesn't make much sense to me. There may be 4 or 5 star busts, but they at least are busts at a D1 college.

6A is the biggest division in Florida, not 4A. Maybe he was one of those guys. We had a guy at West Monroe that was unstoppable his entire career. He was the 5A Offensive MVP. He was a legit 4.3 guy if not faster. The problem was he was 5'8" 130lbs. Couldn't be stopped in high school, signed with McNeese State. Some guys dominate at the high school level, but you know they will not move up to college ball.

Don't you kinda answer your question there? The south is so loaded that this guy can get away because there are so many other badasses to come in and play?

Mount Union is also a D3 powerhouse that could probably compete with many 1-AA programs. Was seeing how much this guy knew.

Not really. If he's the 4a player of the year then D1 coaches would hear about him.
