However, the second may be more important; we found out that Oregon may have a defense this year.

We?

People in the know - who actually watch football west of the Mississippi - already knew this.

Ask LSUinNW, loweralabamatrojan, RogertheShrubber

And how exactly is giving up 42 points - stopping Oregon? Football is 4 quarters.

I will be happy if LSU beats Bama but if not I can't wait for Saban to just go ahead and add to the collection. Oregon might beat Bama. Not Florida state.

Which is funny because of the thread of this title, but how many of the people on here actually watch Oregon to know how good they are on both sides of the ball? Mitchell, Patterson, and IEO are all sold players in the secondary. Hart, Washington, Buckner and Coleman seem to be playing well in the front 7.

Zamoro, what's the lastest on Armstead's wrist?

I think the Nike advertising expenditure with the media outlets has a lot to do with Oregon getting as much media pump as they do. They are a gimmick team just as they are every year.

So glad the BCS is done after this year.

Bookmarked

I can't wait until next year when the committee starts making completely biased pics leaving out deserving candidates.

Funny how you think NC state is on par with UCLA.

Based on what? Mariota is better than Winston because he is SMARTER, and that can't be said enough.

I'm not a fan of Jimbo as a coach but his offense is way more complex than Oregons. Mariota reads half of the damn field man. Winston can make all of the reads and all the throws.

If all 3 remain undefeated it will be Bama vs Oregon

FSU looks great but I think the strength of schedule will hurt them

Bama's strength of schedule is a goddamn joke. They've played A&M. That's it. Seriously. FSU's strength of schedule is at least comparable if not better. And Oregon's is better than either of the others' schedules, which is just plain sad.

I don't think that. Not at all.

I live in Los Angeles so I've been following UCLA a bit over the last couple of seasons. Jim Mora Jr. definitely has the program going in the right direction, but I don't think they're quite at the point where they can compete with top tier teams yet. If you've watched their offense a lot this year it's borderline anemic. Hundley is good, but the offensive line is hurting and the play calling sucks. Every series it's: Swing pass for 2 yards, dive play up the middle for no gain, and before you know it it's 3rd and 8. They should definitely be doing better with the talent they have offensively.

That said, I'm looking forward to them putting a whooping on USC this year and hopefully for the next few seasons as well

Total BS if FSU gets left out. They are the best team in the country this year. The college football system is so lame. Bama gets an undeserved rematch a few years ago and the best team in the nation this season is trending towards being left out. Playing it out on the field probably makes no sense. 4 will not solve the issue. This season may be perfect for a 4 team, but it will probably never work out this way again. Next season will probably have 1 unbeaten and 6 one loss teams at end of the season.

I'm an FSU fan. That being said Oregon is easily the 2nd best team in the country...and it's not even close. Strength of schedule alone will get them in the BCS championship game.

That being said, I bet Alabama stumbles (against LSU) and it's FSU-Oregon for the title.

I think it's more than likely that the best team will always be at least in the top 4. When is the last time you can remember the best/most deserving team being left out of the top 4? That would happen rarely if ever.

I would love to see this. It would be one of the best match-ups for the title in a long time.

Being lost in all if this talk is FSU vs Oregon would be really fun to watch too. I obviously really want Alabama in the game but if not I'd be perfectly content with FSU Oregon.

I think all of the top 5 have shown they can flex their muscles at times. The top 3 have done it more consistently, but I'd love a Baylor/Oregon game for example. Give me the over on 100 points
