EDW had high snaps on 3 of their first 4 punts that killed field position and by halftime their running back was injured.

First of all - Congrats PBS

I played football at EDW and I can tell you this - this was not one of the most talented teams from the past, but the positive attitude and the passion that these kids have played with was unreal. Coach Kyle is great motivator and we are looking forward to the years to come. I saw some of the upcoming talent that PBS has at the end of the game (and yes it is good) but we are looking at a few very good years to come also. I am sure we will meet ya,ll again in the years to come.

Just so you will know, the deep snapper is a 9th grader who did an outstanding / flawless job all year. You can not say that he was the reason for this loss. I talked to him after the game and he said that he would feel alot worst if the score would have finished 9-0 (two snaps over the punters head) but with the final the way it was that he was not reason for the loss and that PBS also had some bad snaps.

Yes our leading running back played hurt with a severely sprained ankle until he could not walk anymore and the weather conditions were terrible but under different conditions I feel the game would have been alot different. Not saying that we would have won but we would have scored a few and may have been a bit more effective defensively and on special teams.

For someone to say they do not know how we made it this far is STUPID on your part. Look at our schedule and the teams we defeated. You don't get 3rd place seating in the state by being a so-so team - you earn it!! Undefeated in district with two of the teams that we beat in dist. in the quarter finals (CNI and Patterson). Not to mention the #5 seated team in 5A.

I can go on and yes I could be ugly but all I will say is hope to meet up again in the near future in football and we are looking forward to baseball.

Jackasses on this board that say EDW sucks, did not deserve to be here. Give me a freaking break! They had a lot of teams that sucked last night then that did not deserve to be in the semi finals according to some of the morons on here.

I agree but I was just trying to say it a more civil way.

pbs is the curtis of BR. can you say Recruiting. not too hard to be loaded every year

This is so ridiculous. Just go look at the players on the team and the names. It's a bunch of preppy kids that go to a school where football is king and you do it year round. The freshman class has a lot of black kids because Redemptorist isn't giving "discounts" anymore, and they cost nearly the same so there is an influx of people not wanting to send their kid to downtown BR.

I came there in 9th grade because I went to a public school and my parents didn't want me going to a public school in BR. I was clearly not recruited. There are about 70 other kids exactly like that. I didn't go there to play sports, but I knew Parkview had goo athletic facilities and programs so that definitely helped, but they don't recruit anyone. And anyone who has watched a Parkview game knows they don't recruit, we're 95% white.

EDW and PBS had the exact same looking players except on the OL. It's just ridiculous to say Parkview recruits.

Why not think before you talk:

quote:

The freshman class has a lot of black kids

then

quote:

we're 95% white.

What's the difference

Then you said:

It's a bunch of preppy kids that go to a school where football is king and you do it year round.

Let me just say this:
EDW has a great athletic program and we do not have luxury of the population in BR. Yes we do have a few kids from neighboring parishes but these kids come to EDW for the top notch education they receive. My son who is currently at EDW is my second child to attend this school and since my oldest son was in school it really has hurt me that the school (as a whole) put SOOOO much emphasis on education instead of athletics. But you know what - these kids will not go into life and make millions playing sports - my hope is to get a good education and to go into life with that bases and the life lessons learned while playing sports to have very productive life.

Buds, I am a PBS fan and I must say I thought that EDW had some size/speed last night, It just got neutralized early because of the weather. EDW had a great run this year, Congrats to you guys and good luck next year.

I know the ED White players fairly well and the Parkview players fairly well. I did not see but maybe 1 black player on Parkview's freshman team not that that matters. Their best players were white, big, and fast not that that matters ED White will be good for the next few years and they play in a weak district which helps. Parkview had the best freshman team I saw this season hands down. I saw at least 12 different and very talented freshman teams. Their combination of size, speed, and atleticism were second to none. ED White best players are Chaisson QB and Ledet RB and they both are seniors next season. It is gonna be really hard to replace Ledet. He is the best back ED White has had in a while. Chaisson is also the best QB they had in a while. When you have a team that heavily relies on 2 players this is what happens after injuries take place. Parkview has more depth than ED White now and in the future. Now that Lutcher is gone, 3A is much weaker and this helps. ED White in my opinion has to win next season. They have some talent coming up but Chaisson is a great leader and a character kid who separates himself. He has all the intangibles. Ledet is just a mule. To address the academic thing, Parkview is also a very good academic school. Parkview sells itself it does not have to recruit. My son does not attend Parkview. I also think Parkview will reload in baseball again this season. They are probably better in talent and coaching in baseball than in football. ML Woodruff is one of the best coaches in the state in any sport.

Since when does a team(s) that make it to the semifinals suck? So Lutcher who got whipped last night sucks too? I think not! You can say EDW sucked in the game last night, but say sucked this season, thats bullshite!

So if I was a jackass like youself I can say from my one time this season I will see PBS in the dome next week get their arse kicked, I will come to the conclusion that they suck too!

PBS WILL NOT GET KILLED AS YOU SAY.

It will be an epic game between PBS and Notre Dame. It could go either way. Both teams have great defenses and good offenses.

No weather problems next week, so may the best team win.

I do not disagree with some of what you said but

quote:

How can you say that when 3 teams in our district made it quarter finals 2 to semis. What about PBS.

I would love for Patterson to play PBS again (thanks for the fumble) or to play Richwood (they are for real)

Back to the academic thing - I do not question that PBS is a good school to attend but when your tuition is almost twice that of EDW you can afford to spend a little more on athletics to have better salaries and etc. I think we compete extremely well across the board with little emphasis on athletics.
