Guys, you're all forgetting the main point.

The main point actually is that..

Kobe wasn't drafted by the Lakers.

You can never say for sure.

A discussion like this would have gotten answers like Brett Favre, Jerry Rice, Franco Harris, Ray Bourque, Harmon Killebrew, or Willie Mays at different points in the past.

Not sure if anyone is aware but Kobe was not actually drafted by the Lakers.

Also, Tim Duncan

Would never have been in this thread regardless of the Jets/Vikings thing. Was drafted and played for the Falcons before the packers

the lakers didn't make the pick but the entire trade was based on the hornets taking Kobe as in, the lakers told the hornets the trade would only woek if they picked kobe. Kobe worked out with the lakers, met jerry west, met the coaching staff. They basically drafted him

Guess that counts out guys like Nerlins Norl and Shabazz Mohammed since they've already been traded

Wasn't he drafted by the Browns? Technically not the same team.

I could see Ryan Howard doing it. He's 33 and still has 3 years left on his deal with the Phillies.

Still awesome to see players play on the same team their whole career. Not jumping ship when times are hard is something that should be respected.
