60 teams is roughly the size of a class in the LHSAA. So I would think they wouldn't split.
Unless I'm reading it wrong, the letter sent out says it needs a "minimum" of 60 to participate. So to me 60 is the least teams it can have.

no Lisa was comprised of ZERO schools that LEFT the LHSAA to be members there........big difference

Listening to Bonine this morning, he said the new association will offer 8 sports. No golf, soccer, swimmimg, wrestling, or tennis. If this is correct, how can this be good for a private school?

Yeah, the Catholic league won't agree to that

I don't see West Monroe sharing the wealth. Definitely don't see them cutting soccer and golf either.

West Monroe might not even be invited. Didn't they vote for the recent split?

I'm all for this. Let 'em go and see how far their money can take them.

They abstained from voting.

The letter that was sent out says "forward to any and all parties that may be interested in a potential move." It also states it needs a minimum of 60 teams. With those two statements, it seems to me that they would accept every school in Louisiana that wants to be a part of it.

Only if they can be in both at the same time...

does the new association say the same thing?

My question would be, what about all the other sports. I know that soccer was not split into the whole select/non select fiasco, but if sports such as soccer are not included, what assoc will those kids play under? I can't jmsgine LHSAA would be viable if everyone jumps to this new format

Didn't vote

They probably should target 1A and 2A private schools in south LA...

Well, they could and just be placed automatically in the championship game.
This is already the case with the split. Play one or two challenging games and get in the championship game.

Revenue sharing could be a game changer

Teams with actual fanbases will not like this. Might be what keeps them from joining. 10K fans vs 500 and splitting the revenue down the middle...yeah doesn't sound very appealing.
Pardon my ignorance, but don't LHSAA playoff games already get split this way? Pay the refs off the top, pay the visitors travel, split the difference?

Kinda. Teams split the tickets bought at the gate. I can buy a ticket from my team before hand (This doesn't always happen) and 100% of my money goes to my school.
In short, if you buy before the game, the money goes to the school you bought it from.

Maybe the LHSAA will wake up and realize they have the potential to lose most of the private school bracket and reverse the split.......doubt it though

Just move up or down the teams that need to be moved up or down based on competitiveness. I'll sign up to do that for free for them.

If Evangel plays Curtis in 5A football championship, not much revenue to split there.
