I went to see that fight on closed circuit at Oak Mountain Amphitheater near Birmingham. To say that the people who had paid large to see that thing were not amused at the brevity was an understatement.

Why do some guys keep saying this?

Ali was never counted out in his career. He fought guys who hit just as hard as Tyson, namely Frazier, Foreman, Liston and Shavers. He could take a punch and recover as well as any fighter in history.

Did Holyfield even get knocked down, much less out, in two fights with Tyson? Did Lewis get knocked down? Douglas took his best punch and got up. Douglas will never be confused with Ali.

The guys that keep saying this are the same guys who saw Tyson hitting a punching bag and swore he would annihilate Jake Paul, lol. The Tyson lovers can not look at him objectively. They view him as invincible when he was proven to be anything but.

Ali. At his peak he may have had the fastest gloves of any light heavyweight/heavyweight ever. Tyson never had to deal with that kind of speed.

I loved prime Tyson, he was the first HWC I clearly remember in my childhood. That said, he is vastly overrated.

Prime Ali would dominate him in a bad and ugly way.

Tyson would have a punchers chance but that is it.

I do not believe this opinion is disrespectful toward Tyson, it’s just a clear reality.

Yes I think you’re right. The more I think about it the more I think Tyson would’ve been mid had he fought in that prior generation

Tyson!! In his prime…there was just something terrifying about him that I have never seen with any other boxer. He was literally trying to knock your head off. His story and fall from grace speaks to that primal nature. I truly think he was the strongest boxer to ever fight. He’s KOs are legendary.
