And now another shocker..

We have internal strife of barstool people publicly saying they shouldn’t have brought Rico back and on and on this saga goes

Nothing but a drive for clicks and engagement .

It isn’t about sports anymore and it’s the drama of a freshmen in high school .

It’s the equivalent of when Skip and Steven A would “debate” on first take and it would provide talking points and fodder for the rest of the days shows It’s like this with barstool, they’ll all do their various podcasts and write blogs and talk about Rico’s return and how it definitely wasn’t a bit and the invasion of the outsiders and who let them in and the guy calling out other coworkers for being lazy to not go to rough and rowdy . Rehashed shite over and over

I really only listen/watch PMT. Every now and then I might watch or listen to an episode of something else .

It’s funny to me that Barstool and Big Cat have become what they started out making fun of. They used to constantly talk about how ESPN would generate headlines by having an analyst say something and then rehash it for content all day. Well, that’s just Barstool now, and ironically PMT don’t make those kind of comments towards ESPN anymore.

They also, previously, would make fun of athletes who very obviously sell out. Kind of like what Dan is doing with Pardon My Cheesesteak and Stella Coffee - brands/sectors he has no business in but $ is $

Perfect timing to re-energize the audience of Stoolies to cross-sell the upcoming Barstool Bowl game.

It’s eerily similar to the decline of the Howard Stern show

The forced bits from tertiary “talent” is increasingly painful in general

How do most Barstool fans consume the content? I used to listen to the rundown, still occasionally listen to PMT, and I watch some of Dave’s stuff on YouTube. I still don’t know who most of the Barstool characters are or what they do. They don’t cross-promote but they’ll reference people like I’m supposed to know who they are.

Is the assumption that the average consumer is a frequent visitor of the website and follows the various Barstool content creators? I’m mostly curious from a business standpoint how they’ve created such a successful brand with little promotion or depth of talent.

From my experience it’s basically Dave and Dan running the modern day Jerry Springer show online. Interesting business nonetheless.

I listen to PMT, and that’s about it. I’ll listen to episodes of some of the other shows if they have an interview I want to hear, but I’m not subscribed to anything else.

Also, being a Mississippian, it annoys me that they have two mentally handicapped slobs representing the two SEC programs in the state. Although it looks like they fired Mintz?

Agree with whoever said the Pardon My Cheesesteak and Stella Coffee shite is lame.

Yet another bit they do. Mintzy is moving back to New Orleans and away from Jersey.

He just signed another 3 year deal where they let him come back south
So he’ll get to make $100,000 and make a 30 second video filmed on a potato at a saints game here and there and go to a sports book for promotion and write an occasional bad blog

Mintzy absolutely fleeced that company

My barstool content consumption is officially at zero. I haven’t listened to PMT since maybe a week or 2 after the Super Bowl.

It’s dead(to me at least). Just lost interest.
