Where’s 2012 UGA? Second best team in the country by a lot. Was 5 yards and 1 play away from beating a great Bama team, playing the title game and no doubt routing Notre Dame.

2008 USC is the best team to be snubbed by the BCS in the BCS era.

I would take that defense over any defense in the BCS era including all the great Bama defenses.

2001 Florida slaughtered everybody that season, except for losing by a FG at Auburn and by two to No. 5 Tennessee on that game postponed from 9/11 week to the end of the season.

They’re the only team that would’ve given Miami a fight in the NCG.

I agree. That would've been such a great title game. 2 loaded squads that hate each other.

They were a good team. LSU could argue they were one play away from playing that Georgia team. Not sure if LSU could beat them, but we had enough on D still to have beat NDs arse.

They got off to a slow start, but that team was a machine who was steamrolling everyone at the end of the season.

That was Spurrier's best team, IMO

I’m an idiot.

2008 S.C. is my answer then.

2007 West Virginia

Rich Rod, Pat White, & Steve Slayton

Losing to Pittsburgh killed a great season.

And I post this with the utmost respect for Neutron Man, who was by all accounts a great human being and not some narcissistic douche like Buck-I-Guy.

Georgia had a damn good team in ‘02 as well, 13-1 Sugar Bowl champs, beat Clemson GT and FSU. Lone loss was to Zooker.

Best team in the country by the end of the year.
3rd best LSU team since the Dinardo Era began.

2008 was a stacked season. There were a ton of great teams.

Florida
Oklahoma
USC
Utah
Texas
Alabama
Boise State

were all really good.

Yeah, great team. Saw them live at Maryland on a Thursday in one of the strangest days of my life.

This is obviously an off-season/quarantine post and I actually got a returned sales call partly through, but 07 was such an entertaining season.

I left off many teams with 2 losses or didn’t get No. 1 votes at end of season

2012 UGA was 7 yards from NCCG against ND. Closer than either 02 or 07.

Dunno which of the three is the best, probably the '07 team. By the time the Sugar Bowl rolled around, I think we could have beaten any team in the country.
