re: Sam is an attention-seeking liar

It really is a sad state of affairs in our country. Dissenting opinion on almost anything is labeled bigotry.
Yeah, and what is funny is all of the condescension in the first few pages with people jumping on my because they assumed I was against Sam because he was gay. It was interesting to watch. And, every one of them have been sucked in by the propaganda.
Sam might have had good intentions at first. I don't know him. But, what he did today let me know that all that we are going to know about Sam is that he is gay.
That isn't something that I care about when it comes to football. If you are gay or straight - whatever - all that matters is if you can play. It is like any other job.
As for team chemistry, what difference does it make if a gay man is on the team or in the locker room? Who cares?
But, Sam has let us know that it matters a great deal to him and he is going to make a big deal out of it as often as possible.
The sad thing is that Sam is just a pawn. We saw that today. How much do you want to bet that an ESPN producer put him up to all of that just to make it a bigger story?

Except none of those players, to my knowledge, ever said they didn't want the attention. Sam did say that he doesn't want the attention.
and has done nothing in contrast of that statement besides what thousands of other draftees have done.

The South Park episode on acceptance vs tolerance is really spot on on this issue.

Thousands of other draftees have grabbed their girlfriend and rubbed cake all over her face on national TV and then kissed it off?
Really?
Link?
Really?
Link?

I wonder what will happen when he buys his boyfriend a car. How big will the meltdown be after the story airs?

Michael Sam is just smartly building his "gay brand image".
Posted on 5/10/14 at 8:49 pm to xenythx
Yep. He wont make it in the nfl, needs to build his image for other endeavors.

I can't wait till he doesn't make the roster and all the threads that will come from it.

Will ESPN be there to help publicize the hell out if it? If not then I doubt anybody will care.

I betcha his teammates can't wait to get cake licked off their faces too.

He was spot on with the comparison. The antagonists of the OP in this thread never gave the idea of Sam being disingenuous about "just wanting to be a ball player" a single thought.
Went straight to;
1) insinuating that the OP was a homosexual
2) is a homophobe
3) hates cake
The antagonists are locked into Sam's gayness, while the OP is just talking about a poor human trait Sam might possess.

quote:Yes, the first openly gay player drafted in the NFL is equatable to all gays in everyday life.
This is true not only in this thread but in life. Gays are above reproach to a lot of people, simply because they are gay. Any criticism is homophobia.

It's not about being gay. It's about being flamboyantly gay because I saw it on TV. Dude should worry about being in NFL, not smearing cake. No one else broadcasts their gayness in such a way. He said he was about being a player, not being a gay spectacle. I couldn't care less that he's gay at all.
What you meant to say is stop being gay and "making" me watch it.
