it is about as far in the northeast corner as you can get. about and hour north of monroe.
Lutcher and Neville should be a great game

My understanding is Oak Grove is up near the Arkansas border, sorta on the northwest side of Louisiana. Is that correct? If so, it seems difficult to imagine a longer in-state trip for any team.

Northeast, not Northwest. You go to Delhi on I-20 and go North. It's actually only 209 miles if you go through Natchez.

I agree with everyone of your picks.

The game of the week this week is Lutcher vs. Neville. I think Lutcher wins 34-23. It will be close.

I wrote this 2 weeks ago about Lutcher:
saw Lutcher play twice this season and it all began when a friend begged me the first time to ride with them to the game.I strongly thought about not going as I am a fan of one of the Baton Rouge high school teams. But since that first game, I am hooked to the greatest show in high school football, If their 3 top guys remain healthy, this is true entertainment. They can score from anywhere on the field at anytime by air or by the run. These guys are explosive. Trust me, when you watch these guys play, you know that they are a snap away from a touchdown or a big play. Can they beat everyone in the state, I don't know, but it would be sure a lot of fun to watch. As I said, if you want to get your money's worth - go watch the Lutcher Bulldogs play, you will never be the same watching another game again on any level except for the Saints or Colts offense. They are the greatest show in high school football - watch them once and you will be back - just like me.

Head To Lutcher this Friday night. Watch them play Neville. It's going to be fun.

You're going to have fun as Neville runs 4-5 receiver sets and has a QB that can sling it. Burch is committed to La Tech, but would be a much bigger recruit if he didn't get hurt last year. The kid is legit.

All those 5A and 4A schools can thank little ol 2A for taking one for the public team--this is sad and something needs to be done. No other public school in 2A would have beat many the way evangel did. The publics of 2A cannot compete against the recruiting privates and btw evangel plays dirty and I hope they lose in their next game. No sour grapes here they were better but they also like to run the score up also which shows their lack of class and christian values

No, it shows that your team sucks. What's so un-Christian about that? Lack of compassion? There is no compassion in sports.

Yep my 11-1 ranked #5 in the state best PUBLIC school in 2A in the state sucked this year. There may not be compassion in sports but there is a little thing called dignity something that evangel and sounds like you lack. You don't try to embarass kids by running the score up.I take it your a fan of one of these cheatin privates also--oh well as I stated on another board evangel won't play us on the hardcourt

5A
Meh. West Monroe wins 5 - 3 vs. Rummel
West Monroe wins 21 - 14 vs. Westgate

4A
Lutcher vs. Franklinton or Salmen would be awesome. Neville vs. Franklinton or Salmen I'm not as excited about but could still be a great game.

3A
Depending on the matchup this one could be great.
I'm hoping for Notre Dame vs. Parkview because I went to ND and some of my best friends went to Parkview.

2A
ECA's QB got hurt last week depending on how bad it was. This game could be as terrible as last years was.

1A
S. Plaq is always fun to watch. If St. John's can move the ball on them it will be interesting.
(If St. John gets by Haynesville)

It is in West Carroll Parish. They are a perennial powerhouse. They have won several state championships and are always in the playoffs.

The times are pre determined. They are the same every year.

Friday Night

5pm- 2A State Championship
8pm- 3A State Championship

Saturday
1pm- 1A State Championship
4pm- 4A State Championship
7pm- 5A State Championship

These times are of course approx. Games do tend to run late and the 2nd and 3rd games are not usually on time. But that is the schedule.

That was in the first round and Parkview sucked donkey dick in 2006, so that's not even remotely influential on this game.
