Minor league baseball is for the absurd. The promotions are the top, the weird food items draw free publicity, etc. the names people know are either long existing franchises (Iowa Cubs, Durham Bulls) or are terrible and fans love them. Lansing Lugnuts, Montgomery Biscuits, Asheville Tourists, Fort Wayne Tincaps, and others. There will probably be a terrible logo that will move more merchandise than Zephyrs brand has done recently. How often do you see people in Zephyrs gear?

First, they should ditch "New Orleans" in favor of "Big Easy" (or N'awlins).
I liked Krewe, Sno-balls, and Baratarians.
Beyond that I can suggest the:
a) Redfish
b) Specks
c) Andouille
d) Tree-shaka's
e) Streetcars
f) Lagniappe
g) Cocktails (but I don't care to celebrate drunkenness)

All those names are so god awful it's unbelievable. Aren't they in the Miami farm system? Even if they just changed the name to "Marlins" it's better than anything on that list.

People tout things like the Asheville Tourists as a great name but they shite on New Orleans Baby Cakes. That is a true Louisiana tradition - we can eat our own like no other.

50% of me thinks it's hilarious, but then the other half thinks it's retarded because baby cakes is literally not a phrase ever used in this city.

Meh, the logo is 90% of the battle for MiLB clubs anyway. Po'Boys, Baby Cakes, and Night Owls are all solid IMO.

See, I think King Cakes is one of the worst on the list.
If it's going to be associated with the city, I think it needs to be a crazy association, not something like Crawfish or King Cakes. Take the Akron RubberDucks for example. Crazy AF, but also pays homage to the Goodyear tire factory in Akron.
