quote:4 times avoiding my question now.
I didn't add the term white, that is his original post. But you didn't even see it because you have your victim glasses on watching closely the comments made about a black man. That is pretty telling as well
Is it really that tough a question that you can't even attempt to answer it?
quote:You keep saying this, I keep saying why this is incorrect, and yet you ignore it and say it again.
It's just that the oversensitive PC crowd gets all uptight when the term thug is used and starts crying racism. The race card is played so much now days that regardless what connotation one would have put on Sherman, that person would be racist. It's old and tiresome
I am one one of the people bashing Sherman for what he did, so that alone disproves this theory.

Probably already been said buy why do you guys care that he went off? Why even have the post game interview if all you're going to do is thank god, praise your team mates, and talk about how much you respect your opponent?
Do you really expect your professional athletes to act like Mitt Romney?

quote:Pretty much, like you said generally speaking.
Let me see if I can explain this. Sherman acted like a dick. People call him a thug. That's not fair, because thugs are criminals. He just talked shot in football. When white people in sports act like dicks, they are called other names, which don't have criminal connotations. Thy are not called thugs. Therefore, calling Sherman a thug here is racist, whether the person saying it realizes it or not, because calling him a thug is calling him a criminal because he is black. (Putting it in stark terms for ease of understanding.)
And I took more exception to the posters saying he'd be dead or in jail if it weren't for football. Yea, the guy who is better educated than probably 99% of us and from a better school than 99% of us wouldn't be able to function in life without football. Get outta here with that lazy thinking.

quote:Wilson or Manning, obviously. I already said how foolish Sherman was. So my question is, me not picking Sherman means what exactly? I'm not sure what your angle is there.
Would rather your son act like Sherman or Wilson or maybe a Payton manning?

Yeah I guess it's too much to ask for someone to show a little class but what do you expect from a generation that grew up watching the jerry springer show.

Figured you'd still be here fighting the fight.

I remember when I used to carry on like this on the poli board.

Actually, I went to bed and when I woke up just wanted to peak in to make sure you were still being the e-activist you are. Im leaving again though.

It'd be nice if you actually had a point here.

No point, just glad to see you are still knighting for Richard and the Compton boys and making sure everyone that disagrees with you is a huge racist. Carry on.

i'm late to the party on this, as i finally saw it, i had no problem with it,
heat of the moment, blah blah blah, it's not as bad as most of the people are making it out to be

Exactly. He didn't even make an effort to answer the question, or the follow-up question once he stopped yelling. It was a joke and a horrible example for the youth of America who want to be just like him.

Oh give me a break. This is a really tired argument.

Will someone think of the children?!
I thought it was funny as hell. These teams hate each other, so he spent postgame mocking Michael Crabtree. I love sports hate.
If you are not Michael Crabtree, I don't see why you'd be upset.

I cant billieve people have a problem with it. I think a large black man yelling on tv scared alot of people and quickto yell thug although we celebrate a white quarterback who will jaw back (bret favre was loved for this)
All the hate for a great promo has me pulling for Seattle. As a wrestling fan I love when someone plays the real life heel.im a chael sonnen fan in ufc because of same antics.
We cry about no fun league and being bland amd when we get awesomeness we cry

The only people that will be upset are those who will bitch when Sherman doesn't get the big endorsement deals or gets held in as high regard as the greats. He will only have to look in the mirror. Not mad about anything it's just a shame he can't be better than that. It's gonna turn into another race bs argument.
