Reg season MVP
Finals MVP
Lead his squad to series win over GOAT warriors

Would be time for him to claim his spot atop the league.

You remember how you refuse to give credit to LeBron for winning vs GSW and Curry on a grade 1 MCL sprain?

This is a “prove it” league. You don’t get the accolades until you prove it. So yes it absolutely does depend on accomplishment not yet occurred.. Just like we could not in good faith put Davis in the top 5 til he had won playoffs, the only thing holding back hardwn from the mountain top on the individual list is to take his team to the title.

Tranny we already have to put an asterisk next to any potential rox title due to Steph not being right.

It's already been reported he won't be 100% til the offseason. So Rox won't be beating GSW at their best.

AD's been among the absolute greatest players in the game since his lone year at UK, the stats, the attributes, the impact, and the accolades have reflected that, winning a title and Finals MVP would be a capper but it's not a condition that needs to be fulfilled because the entire objective world knows how dominant and productive a player he's been from a 2-way perspective

I have my own theory on Westbrook.

Westbrook is like the girl that blooms late. He developed insecurities when he wasn't highly recruited out of HS and had to go to junior college.

Now his talent finally bloomed, but his mind is still in that insecure phase. That translates into someone that always feels the needs to prove himself, especially at the biggest moments so he can finally get that validation that "hey, he is that guy."

Problem is that doesn't always translate into great team basketball. I don't know if you fix that unless he fixes his own issues.

a true defensive anchor would have his sqaud as much better defense than Pels have ever been. See embiid and gobert. And the best player in the world would have more leadership and Intangivles than to win ONE playoff series in 6 years. There’s a respect that we have for the league and players in it. You don’t get credit for being better than guys who have lead their team to the top of the mountain when you have accomplished squat.

He was embarrassed.

Its the statistical equivalent of yelling at the tide to roll out two minutes before tide goes out.

Rubio won't do it again if no one covers him.

Would you have made that same argument about Michael Jordan before he finally made the NBA Finals in his 7th season? That's essentially what you're doing with a player as otherworldly as AD today.

Jordan did not get credit as best player in the league after his first playoff series win. We apply the same standards to ALL players.

5 players on the court, no? Also doesn't play all 48 minutes right?

Imagine 4 of you and 1 prime Dwight Howard on the court. Arguably one of the best defense bigs ever in his prime. It would lead to a horrible defensive team. Doesn't change the fact he's an elite defender

Davis is not on the level of embiid or gobert. Not even close. Those other guys team are elite no matter who is out there with them.

So she’ll start hooking up with a bunch of good looking dudes but still ends up dating the loser because she’s willing to settle for less?

I think we all know people like that

Oh. My bad. I wouldn’t say he’s not even close, but overall that’s pretty fair.

Gobert and Embiid are on their own level defensively IMO.

Well...he is above a great portion of other players...like maybe 5 or so better in the entire league.

Feel free to check his stats against the HISTORY of the rest

ps....I dont like him at all, but that guy is phenomenal

All 3 are the best defensive big men currently in the game, their imposing presences on the court represent a pretty solid deterrent to paint penetration

Davis in not on their tier, clearly. Eye test and statistically.

I know this board mostly hates Colin Cowherd but my god he has been spot on about Westbrook and just destroyed him today
