Refer to Florida State scheduling in the early years of Bobby Bowden.
OMG, not this again. I guess since you weren't vorn, it never occured to you that the college football world has changed dramatically since the mid 70's. When Bowden started at FSU, FSU and over 30 D1 programs were independents, today there are 3 indy's.

Can't blame TCU and ordinarily they probably would have kept that game but
Mtn West is making them go to Boise St
They already travel to Baylor
They lose a top notch QB - Camp Randall is not the best place to break in a new QB
LSU has an upcoming home and home with them, TCU is expanding their stadium
Once they join the Big East they will get more home and homes I believe.

Ok, I thought so.
I wanted to say something like "She's terrrrrible at farks" in a joking way, but then I wasn't sure if I remembered correctly that you're a woman or not.

TCU is playing Oklahoma and Virginia in their first year of Big East play. The OP is crap.

They have nothing to gain with a rematch with Wisconsin at Wisconsin.

TCU schedule is terrible this year
Contradict yourself much?
I get that TCU is moving to a BCS conference in 2012, but they had an opportunity to schedule a legit BCS conference opponent, and they turned it down. They have absolutely no right to bitch about being left out of a BCS game next year.

So the fact that in order to do so it would be at the expense of an already-scheduled BCS opponent doesn't matter to you?

Who are they playing that week instead of Wisky?(not that I think they should necessarily drop their game, but I'm a big fan of big OOC matchups)

They are playing at Baylor for their season opener. It's the 2nd half of the home/home agreement that had Baylor in Ft. Worth last season.

So in the past they backed out of a deal with Ohio State because they wanted to "prove" themselves against Virginia and didn't want to just do a one and done, yet they sign a one off deal with Clemson?
So they are okay with doing a one off deal against a mid-level ACC school's home, but a game against the cream of the Big Ten crop - a game that if they had one could have really helped them in the pecking order - was just undoable. Yeah I'm not buying it. These non-AQs are happy with the occasional 11-1/12-0 season and having ESPN champion their cause right into a bowl game they have no business being in.

nope, they had already scheduled a game with UVA and didn't want to back out of it to play tOSU.

They have played Texas and OU, the cream of the Big xii-ii crop. TCU is one of only 2 teams to beat OU at Norman since Bob Stoops became coach. But hey, don't let facts get in the way of your bashing. If they had played and beat tOSU you still wouldn't repsect them because you'd say they don't play enough BCS teams or its easy to get up for one game or the B1G sux or something along those lines.

seeing as the won the Rose Bowl, the position that they had no business being there is completly false. They met the criteria laid out by the BCS to qualify which is being in the top 12 or 16 depending on the ranking of the AQ conference champs. There is simply no rational way you can argue they did not belong in the top 16. The whole who the play argument is tired and disregards how they actually do. The non AQ's are not as tough as the SEC, but they are not like playing intramural teams either.
I will not comment further in this thread

Can't blame TCU for not playing their opening game after winning the Rose Bowl on the road.
Especially considering they don't get a return came out of it.
I don't think any college team would put themselves in that position.

And in 2007, a win over which team do you think would have seriously helped the perception of their program: Virginia or Ohio State?

Well when they play a big boy maybe once a season, if that, and schedule mid-lower level BCS schools once or maybe twice a year, what do you want me to say about them? I'm sorry but no one in their right mind can compare what TCU does to what Ohio State, Alabama, Auburn, Florida, LSU, Oregon, Oklahoma, Texas, etc. do on the regular. Before you get all uppity and say that those schools have had down years, well no shite. They actually play schools and programs through the years worth a hobo's asshair.

And who exactly did they beat in order to get there? Baylor? Utah? I don't see how anyone can be impressed with their schedule. Sure they beat Wisconsin in a one off game. Congrats, they had one more BCS win than a 5-7 Texas squad did.
If they really are elite, shouldn't they be able to prove themselves again against Wisconsin? I mean, they are a top dog and all right?
