Who's ready to watch Jason Heyward be an MVP candidate?

I like the direction the Braves are going. They may even surprise some people this season if the starting pitching is as good as it's supposed to be.

It'll be good to watch a team not strike out 14 times a game and not have high priced underachievers dragging it down.

Kimbrel is a tough loss, but the Braves have a great farm system and will be fine. Heyward hurts too, but he never did achieve the star status and put up gaudy numbers like many thought he would. He'll probably prosper with the Cardinals.

So the Upton's are together again. Justin will have some incredible weeks of hitting only to follow it up with 2 to 3 weeks of non-hitting...And will Melvin ever find himself? I don't think he will.

I read where someone said that Jonny Gomes will be another Uggla...Uh no, we're not paying him Uggla money. Plus no one can be as bad as Uggla.

I've really been out of the baseball loop regarding trades and what not

I'll have to do some reading up on the bravos

Cliffsnotes: They traded players who are good right now for prospects who may be good sometime down the road. This is going to be the worst Braves team since 1990.

On the plus side, when they lose 100+ games, it'll be easy to fire Fredi at the end of this abortion of a season.

They'll lose a lot of games but they won't lose 100. Starting rotation won't allow that to happen.

Bobby Cox chose Fredi to replace him. Bobby should have won more than one world series with all the talent that was given to him. Fredi is a Cox clone without 3 HOF starters and stud position players except for Freeman. Terry Pendleton is not the answer.

If there is one positive for this season, I think we finish middle of the pack in strikeouts

you'll have to get used to copious amounts of groundouts/popouts

With Gattis and BJ gone, you're probably right. Here's to a bunch of non-productive outs either way.

Real excited about him.

Also have some confidence we'll see a much better offensive performance from Simba this year.

It'll at least be fun later this summer to see some of the youngsters get up here and perform.

Simba is more than capable of hitting .250 with 20 HR's, I wish he would

And we won't have the uptons to argue a called third strike right down the middle.
