Arledge is 10x better than any coach at Bastrop. If anyone could shut them down, it's him.

That being said, I honestly don't know who would win between the 2 this year. I think Bastrop was better than WM the past 2 years though. Now that Mackey's gone, I think Bastrop will find it tougher to win it all.

True, all we can do is give our opinions on the game. Like I said, Bradshaw and Shows need to man up and play the game. Bradshaw is the one stopping this, so I shouldn't throw Shows in it.

You dont think it could happen now? I think this years WM D. When healthy could shut anyone in the state down

Michael Ford 21 car 180 yards....

I know you are going to say "WM won 28-7"
Then i will reply Ford's QB fumbled 3x's past WM's 40 yardline. 2x's inside the 10.

Bastrop has the same offense but better WR's than Leesville and a hell of a better QB with good RB's. Batrops defense is fast fast fast.
42-6, wet field, converted QB from WR, 1st game of season, on the Road. Plus they made tons of mistakes! Don't forget RR was hurt the whole game so his running was hampered! Bastrop, "if healthy" is not gonna lose to any1 from Louisiana this year and i would've bet my house on it.... but fricking IKE!!!!!

26 yards in the first half. 85+ yard run on a great play by a great player, but he did get caught from behind and they didn't score.

Edited because it didn't come across the right way. Ford did great against WM in the second half.

You don't have a RB that could wash Michael Ford's jock, much less hold it.

in a 28-7 ballgame.. how long could WMs '2s and 3s' have been in the ballgame?

4th quarter for the most part. Also, don't forget that Mingo played that entire game at safety. He's back at DE and wreaked havoc last night.

JJ ... what are you smoking? The first team was in the entire game. It was only 21-7 midway through the fourth quarter. Quit making things up to make the WM defense look better. Give credit where credit is due.

you also have to account for the 5 fumbles WM would have against BHS..

Check the film, they came out with 5-6 minutes left in the game. I would think the statement I made about no one on Bastrop's team being close to Ford would've given credit where credit was due. Did he or did he not have 26 yards at the half though?

Everything you said was correct with the exception of the statement that Ford got his yards against the 2's and 3's.

You obviously haven't watched WM this year. They aren't running the option much. The customary fumbles on the pitch wouldn't happen. They ran almost exclusively out of the spread with 3/4 receivers last night when the first team was in the game.

He had 140-150 or so when they came out, 85 on one play. I really like the kid. I think he's going to be an absolute monster this year. I would be MORE surprised if he didn't get 2,000+ than if he did. He just had ZERO help from the OL 90 percent of the game.

OK, this is the one thing I don't understand. Why are so many people chiming in about the 85-yard run as if it didn't happen or doesn't count. That boggles my mind. "He got 85 yards on one play." That is faulty logic. The kid earned those 85 yards. What's the difference if he got it one play or went 30, 20, 25 and 5 yards on consecutive carries? Would that be more acceptable for you guys?

Not trying to be. I'm usually the harshest critic of WM. I called in today to the local ESPN talk show and said I see WM having trouble in the playoffs this year. I don't see them having a single game in question the rest of the year in the regular season. That will hurt them when they get in a dogfight in the playoffs.

You are right, but if you carefully read my post that was to say that overall Bastrops offense is better than Leesville's. I said "good RB's." Ford is great, but a good RB in Bastrop's offense just adds to the speed at WR and takes some of the load off of Randle. Make sure you check the context of he post before you reply.

You know if you take away Ford's runs of 72, 43, 34 and 32 against Sam Houston, he would have only rushed for 154 yards. He was shut down virtually.
