Didn’t they agree to 12 teams, too?

that everyone agreed to
The below includes what you left out for context. Cause the current system is not the same.

it's clearcut data that everyone agreed to.

It was always the best system

They didn't play anyone
I love how it always turns into this absolutist nonsense. They played a soft schedule, therefore, they didn’t play Anyone
They scheduled the ballsiest marquee game of the entire OOC schedule nationally, at least one that isn’t essentially a mandated rival. I’m not even sure how many of those exist OOC anymore.
Washington is a good team. They played Oregon tough. Had a tough loss @wisconsin, a play away from being a 9-3 team definitively ranked in the final Poll.
Illinois is a good team. Win over ranked UCC. They’re not great, but like Washington, they’re a fringe top 25 team that’s a play or two from being 9-3 and ranked.
The problem is those are the ONLY teams Ohio state played that had a pulse and fighting chance.

Here we have common sense
Nah. Just acknowledging that the computers still love OSU and there is a small enough of a gap in the human polls that OSU would have the edge in the final rankings.

Weren’t guys already starting to sit these games out? I imagine it would be widespread by now.

Georgia lost at home to a 3 loss Alabama team that should be left out of the playoff.
Ohio state lost a thriller conference title to the #1 undefeated Indiana Hoosiers, who possess the nations second best scoring defense.

Should have just kept the BCS to pick the playoff teams and none of this committee bullshite.
I’ve been saying this for a couple of years. The worst thing they could’ve done was let a committee decide. People can be influenced and have differing opinions. I’ve always said, create the metrics and put it in a computer and take whatever the algorithm says as your 1-8,12, 16 Whatever you need for a full playoff field.
