While taking BY FAR the most shots in basketball, shooting a putrid percentage from the floor and being the worst perimeter defender in the league. Next to Nash he may be the worst defender in basketball the difference being Nash actually gives a sh*t. The guy literally doesnt even try on defense minus a few games after being called out publicly. He literally shot the Lakers out of atleast 20 games last season and his chucking and horrible defense at the start of the year destroyed the teams chemistry and put them in the hole their in now. Now to be fair they're several problems with this team but when the "leader" goes out with an agenda and gives no effort on the other end of the floor and has to be covered up it kills the team dynamic.

NOT Top 10 sorry, not a great team leader, most overrated defender in recent memory, and a volume scorer. Did I mention he'll pass Havlicek for most missed shots EVER this season?

Why not just expand the list to whatever age the NBA is now?

Without Bron and bosh, wade put up better numbers than every player in the NBA not named Lebron.

Kobe is half the player he used to be but historically he is easily a top 10 player. You don't just luck your way into 5 championships, 30k+ points, and the best single game in basketball history.

Durant could blow out his knee and never play again. While a good career, it is still too early to include him. It is equivalent to adding Grant Hill to the list in 97.

Durant's career is pretty comparable to Shaq's career when the NBA added him to the 50 greatest players list in '96. What makes Shaq's career through '96 so much more impressive than Durant's?

4 consecutive scoring titles and an MVP in 6 seasons gives him a case for Top 50.

It was too early for Shaq to be listed in 96. He proved his worth eventually though.
