Im not buying the pirates, so i think they need more than just a piece.

if they make the playoffs i dont see them doing to well.

Alvarez can pick it at 3rd, for sure.

I think his low avg/obp will really keep him from getting a ton of attention, even if his power has been really important to Pittsburgh's success.

Based on your list, nobody is more valuable to their team than Yadi.

All Card fans knew Matt Carpenter was going to be really good, you could see it coming last year, he's still learning how to play 2B and he plays it very nicely even after that fact.

I'm not 100% on them either, maybe they miss the playoffs. It would take a helluva collapse to finish with another losing record.

A mediocre, at best, defensive 3B with a .306 OBP would pretty much have to break Bond's HR record for me to even consider voting them MVP.

You have been negative on the Pirates for 2 years now. The last I saw, they're maybe in talks for Rios.

Bovada lines from two weeks ago

quote:

2013 National League MVP Odds to Win

Yadier Molina (STL) 3/1

Paul Goldschmidt (ARI) 9/2

Joey Votto (CIN) 11/2

Carlos Gonzalez (COL) 7/1

David Wright (NYM) 15/2

Allen Craig (STL) 10/1

Andrew McCutchen (PIT) 10/1

Buster Posey (SF) 12/1

Carlos Beltran (STL) 15/1

Carlos Gomez (MIL) 15/1

Jean Segura (MIL) 15/1

Michael Cuddyer (COL) 20/1

If Arizona can take the West, I'm going with Goldschmidt. Pittsburgh's staff has had a lot to do with their success this season.

well i did say last year that they wouldnt make the playoffs when everyone was buying into their hot start.

I still think they are getting some smoke and mirrors from the pitching staff. Can you really trust Locke to maintain a sub 3.00 ERA and Liriano to keep chucking along without getting hurt or imploding?

Not to mention their bullpen has already thrown a lot of stressful innings.

I just dont see them as a winning playoff team.

Goldie definitely has the eye-popping numbers that will appeal to voters.

I just can't see 'Zona winning that division.

Allen Craig can rake, no doubt, but he has no business in this conversation. The only reason I can imagine his name getting mentioned is because people still think RBIs are a meaningful stat to judge an individual.

I really hope Yadi doesn't win....

Because Cardinals fans are the fricking worst.

Worse than Braves fans.
