No it isn’t. The coach motioned with his hands in the box
That happens 10,000 times a tournament. I doubt Serena could even see him

I edited my last post, but does it being a Grand Slam event matter?
Posted on 9/8/18 at 5:20 pm to fightin tigers
It matters because it doesn’t get called in any pro tournament at all
Deciding to call it sporadically during the grand slam final is asinine

Seems like the referee is extremely experienced.

Well, don’t act like a complete asshat and move on then. She clearly broke the racket rule and it is a clear penalty.
Her dumbass coach should’nt be giving hand signals and it was clear he was and her excuse of “thumbs up” is pathetic.
Moronic that a person that called the cops on the WTA drug tester when they came to perform a random test is saying “I don’t cheat”. She’s as clean as Barry Bonds.
But people love their cheaters and spoiled as shite divas that’s honestly ruining tennis with her stupidity over the last several years.

Are rules different for a Grand Slam? Say, are there different, or special rules.

exactly. Her coach said he was coaching her but she jumped the umpire, said she was not being coached and then melted down

Just this tournament Federer told an umpire “ don’t even look at me, or talk to me again”
He threatened that umpire!!!!

Stop saying this as if it’s fact.

He missed the part where the coach and on court commentator said Serena couldn’t see him and he knew she couldn’t see him....

You are really keying on this. Once she got two warnings, she had to know that she need to be careful. But she didn't. She continued on even though she was in the wrong

I can't comment either way, but it appears there has been a recent attempt to crack down on this. Especially in grand slams.
If the argument is that it never gets called then why does it matter it happened? Shouldnt she have argued 'who calls that shite' rather than 'I wasn't being coached'
Posted on 9/8/18 at 5:29 pm to fightin tigers
SHe argues she wasn’t getting coached because there isn’t a shot in hell she saw Patrick’s hands
The coaches box is on the opposite side of the court from where she was

Yes she should have and her argument would have been ,more solid. But it wasn't. It was that she doesnt cheat and the ref is a thief.... Even though her coach admitted to coaching her during the match
