I would say using only conference shedules are similar enough. 7-1 trumps 6-2 especiall when you consider that Arkansas kicked the shite out of Auburn in Jordan Hare.
That may be good enough for you, but I use comprehensive, not selective, statistics. You'll understand when you're older.

It is not selective stats it is common sense. Had Auburn played USC and Missouri, they would have gotten their asses kicked.

Common sense based on the games you selected to consider. If you use common sense and consider all the games, you'll conclude that LSU and Auburn were better than Arkansas. Every poll and computer agrees.

Too bad common sense outweighs your computer polls.

That's arguable if you consider all games. You do not.

What is arguable about the fact that out of the 2 main non-conference differences it was USC and Missouri vs. WSU and Nebraska. barring a major upset Auburn loses to both, and itis likely that Arkansas wins vs both. That is the main difference in their records.

Give me a rational argument that puts Tennessee as the #5 team in the SEC last year, or Arkansas who went 7-1 in the SEC the year prior.

So, are you saying that Oregon St is better than USC???

Florida, Georgia, and LSU were OBVIOUSLY better than Tennessee last year, so they were the 4th best SEC team at best. If you don't agree with that, you're retarded.

And they probably weren't much better than Auburn, so they were right around 4th or 5th.

Yea, it's so farfetched.

Oregon State's a very good football team. They're undefeated at home with one game, The Civil War vs. Oregon, remaining. Check it out, it should be a good one.

The teams Oregon State lost to, Penn State, Utah and Stanford are a combined 17-1 on their respective home fields, with Stanford's lone home loss coming against USC (and Stanford played us tough for as long as they could!).

The difference between USC and Oregon State is that we play almost as well on the road as we do at home, and we are much deeper with talent.

USC is a better program overall, and you'd be a fool not to recognize that fact.

What matters though, is that Oregon State thoroughly outplayed USC in the first half of that game in Corvallis, and hung on to win by 6 points. When the last second ticked off the clock that night in Reser Stadium, Oregon State was a better team than USC. College football and the BCS will ignore all other points in the space-time continuum and focus on that one.

Are they a better team than USC today? Nope, probably not.

There is no "Florida Forgiveness" in the PAC 10.
Unlike in the SEC, where you can lose to Ole Miss at home and still win the conference, there are no SECond chances.

Should the Beavers win the conference today, I wish them the very best of luck in the Rose Bowl.
They certainly will have earned it.

As I've stated before, I hope they do win it. I really want to see USC put a beat down on a Big 12 or SEC team in our bowl game.

I don't follow.

USC lost to a 6-5 UCLA team and won the PAC 10 2 years ago I think?

if Oregon St loses to Oregon, USC will get a SECond chance and win the PAC 10. I'm just not seeing your post.

Granted, we've gotten off subject. My post was meant to say, just like Oregon St isn't better than USC, it is possible that Tennessee was the 4tth or 5th best team in the SEC last year even though they played in the SEC CG.

In the unlikely event that Oregon upsets Oregon State today, that is true.

We'll win the conference because we'll have beaten more teams in conference than Oregon State*.

It's very tight this season though, and very much out of our hands.

*if we beat ucla of course. If we don't beat ucla, i'll probably do something rash.

Losing to UCLA would be worse than losing to Stanford last year.

Yes it would. Stanford is an up and coming football program with a hard nosed coach.

ucla is the epitome of suckitude.

I'm with MJRuff on this one: I don't even want to concede a first down to those powder blue fairies.

Yes LSU could beat Ucla. UCla's defense held ASU to around 100 yards of offense and they still got killed 34-9
