Did not know much about him before today, but he seems like a very solid candidate.

St Louis coach would be a solid hire.
But I heard another one (blah) interviewed, but not confirmed.

Scott Kushner ?@ScottDKushner 7m
David Pierce wants the job, but he won't come unless there's a support system at #Tulane similar to what #Rice had. He wants it in writing.

This is what I wanted -someone who will tell Tulane what it will take to win again; not someone who just wants the pay increase. Needs it in writing because a new Pres is coming in in 3 weeks.

Not that Riser was ever going to be offered the job at Tulane, but I think you can cross him off the list:

quote:

@MattRiser17: Neat when people at dinner congratulate you on a great season & say "You can't Leave SLU" Don't worry Hammond, America I'm staying #NotDoneYet

Good news for the Lions.

Regardless of what he said on twitter, Tulane could get Riser if they really wanted him.

Seems like a no brainier to give Pierce what he's asking for but I'm not at all confident that it will happen. Likely going to be more years like the past two if they don't give in to the demands.

Rick Jones has been trying to get the support for years and it hasn't happened. I hope they come to their senses or they'll lose the top candidate for the job.

there are mixed on reports on that and the extent to which it has or hasn't happened.
To some extent Jones has blamed the administration for his own inability to deal with post K world, the new rules, the bats, etc.
