You say Coach Summit, you think his mom. That plus him being like 3 years older than them, I could see him telling people to call him coach Tyler.
True, can see it once it's put like that.

he's finished in basketball.
Who does he move on with...wife or girlfriend?

Just sent his wife a "friend request" on Facebook.

Both and coach in Utah. Maybe add three more and have his own team.
Then get a reality show One Team & Two Balls

Had there been any word recently on the health of pat? Just curious.

How could he ever be trusted to coach a women's team again? Can you imagine the negative recruiting other coaches will do to him? "Can you trust him as the coach of your daughter?"
Can't come back from that, at least not on the women's side
I totally agree. He can never coach women's basketball ever again. I know people make dumb mistakes--especially at that age--but this was so egregious, I can't see how he could ever recruit a young lady again. Even as an assistant. And like somebody mentioned earlier, it's not like they were 50-10 or even 40-20 in 2 years. He was below .500 at a traditional power, as long as those days have been gone.
I was so intrigued by his hire at Tech to begin with. He was grotesquely under qualified, but the once proud Lady Techsters had fallen on hard times and were desperate. Gone were the days when like 4 women's teams gave a shite, and with the emergence of LSU and Baylor and other programs with better schools than Tech(unless you're an engineer, which I doubt many college basketball players are), and more appealing cities than Ruston, I think Tech had to try a Hail Mary and just cross their fingers.
They had already brought Leon Barmore's corpse back out of retirement a couple of times I think and struck out on alumn Kim Mulkey. So in their desperation, they took a huge gamble on a way too young coach, hoping he had absorbed enough from being around the greatest program in WBB history(at the time) and coaching under the greatest coach in WBB history(again, at the the time). And I think they hoped his last name would carry enough cache to bring in some better recruits.
If all went perfectly, it could have been a nice coup. But this outcome was much more likely and holy shite did it backfire right in their faces. Its embarrassing for the athletic department and the entire university. Not sure where Tech goes from here, but I bet Tyler is selling insurance in Knoxville sometime soon. I just can't see a role for him in basketball. Unless he goes the Sprolstra route and tries to get in the NBA breaking down film or something.

They thought he would be his mom. She was 22 when she became head coach.
This is all on Tech's head. Kim Mulkey was to be hired after spending her entire career there as player and assistant and they refused to give her a five-year contract. Only a four year contract. She said frick of and went to Baylor.
And then wore Tech blue the night she won her national championship. A big frick you

With no longer banking that $175k LA Tech salary and company car, the Pat Summitt Foundation administrative expenses are about to creep up...
Especially, if there are child support payments around the corner.
Similar to what someone mentioned earlier, because of his pedigree, he still might get a second chance in the NBA or WNBA down the road in an administrative role...after he finds Jesus.
P.S. I bet the below lady in purple knew what was going on back at Marquette between these two.

So Tyler Summit is a lesbian?

Heard about this rumor maybe half an hour ago, and the guy I was talking to said "This is the kind of thing that means you will be coaching NAIA ball for the next thirty years".
Nah, there is no way he coaches women's basketball ever again. How can AD possibly justify hiring a guy who sleeps with and apparently impregnates one of his players?

blonde transfer from Marquette, and shes knocked up.

Look at the demographics in this country. For something that is "extremely hard", we're pretty damn good at it.
Perhaps he'll use the Henry Hill approach: Saturday night is for wives but Friday night is for girlfriends.

What's lost in all of this is the fact that he had no business being a major D-1 program's head coach at his age. I'm sure the line used by the AD when he was hired was that Tyler was "mature beyond his years." Well we see how that turned out.
The AD, who himself has been called too young to run an athletic department, bears a lot of responsibility for this. Hire young coaches, get young coach results (on and off the field).
