Is there an upper deck there? It looks like its only about 40 rows with no upper deck. Maybe its just not pictured.
the Upper deck will be rebuilt with reduced seating to add suites, etc. The seats in the end zone are to offset that

Yes, shite is actually getting done since Authement (school president for ~40 years) has been gone.

It was called the swamp because it's below sea level and often times when it rained it would hold water and get pretty sloppy during games.
I thought they drained a swampy area to build it in the first place. Is that not right?

Judging by the green band, that must be the Tulane (visitor) section from 2 years ago. No further explanation is needed

The playing surface sits two feet below sea level. When it was a grass surface the rain would cause the playing conditions to deteriorate quickly; thus they called it the swamp

I'm guessing 6 home games, maybe 7. That's not a bad deal at all. Especially since the atmosphere and tailgating is a lot of fun there.
Last year, there were only 5 home games. This year there will be 6

I think it's borrowed, secured by future revenues.
Or maybe that's their next phase.
Are the ragins building suites? Need to do some gauging to take advantage of the nice football run. Everybody else does.

On this board alone LSU fans are far more obsessed with ul than vice versa. Every ul thread with have an LSU fan in it before and of first page
Well, this is basically an LSU board. Go to Ragin Pagin and tell me if you see LSU mentioned, and in how many threads.

Considering this is a LSU board, you can take the "ul" out of the above sentence and it will still be true

Why can't some LSU fans have pride in their own damn state and other schools in it?
Hating USL has nothing to do with not having state pride.

Majority of these infrastructural updates is through muni bonds "ragin Cajun " bonds secured by future athletic revenue and student fees. The bonds used to build this didn't last a week on our bond desk.

student fees
I fully expect this to change in the future but at this point we have no assessed student fees funding athletics.

In the prospectus for the bonds they did insinuate that will change, yes.
There were two bonds pumped out. One for athletic facilities and one for new parking garages. I think revenue from the parking will fund the bonds as we'll

I'm a little unclear on the process of how new fees are added to tuition. I know that a lot of them are taken to vote as "self-assessed" fees. If that's the case with an athletics fee, it almost certainly wouldn't pass (at least not in the short term). We've already got 24 fees that added up to $850 last semester which will go up by $25 next semester.

You have a long way to go before you can do that. Right how the Cajuns scoop 7-9 million per year from the school's general revenues into athletics. that needs to stop before the student fees stop.
I didn't realize that ULL also had student fees. I know that they couldn't for a long time, but then the legislature recently let them do it. But I didn't know that the put them in.
Honestly, student fees are a much better funding mechanism that scooping from the general fund.

I don't know that we're on the same page here. We don't have any fees on students (at this point) that go toward athletics.

Right, only for special projects like student union, parking garage construction, etc. Not for the overall athletic budget like most mid-major programs have.

That's what I thought. I thought someone said above there were fees.
But yall ought to move toward fees and ditch the general fund transfers. It's more stable funding and won't be up to the whim of a legislature. It works better though when you have 30K students to spread the assessment among. You could do it though. It would be problematic for Tech and ULM
