A little strange that the school would suspend him without pay if it was clearly verifiable he reported it.

I have a friend at OSU that is much more tied to the program unless you are the President. Urban will never coach another game at OSU. Great coach and and a POS person.

So he says he followed appropriate Title 9 procedure in 2015 and later, but that he lied to the media at the B1G media days.
While the media is upset at this, if lying to the media was a cause for firing, then just about all of the 130 FBS head football coaches would be gone.
It all comes down to what Ohio State's investigation committee uncovers and recommends.
Unless they uncover something amiss, he'll be off administrative leave and back to coaching by the Penn State game.

Nobody gives a shite he lied to the media, nobody is saying that is why he will be fired or is even in trouble.
The question is WHY did he lie. Smith was already fired. He supposedly passed it up the chain of command in 2015.

No it's not. People lie for dumb reasons all the time.
While you may care about that, he's under no obligation to tell the truth to the media.
He probably shouldn't have answered at all, and just said we handled the situation by firing Smith, and anything else is a private personnel issue.
