There are melting down big time on the USC boards.
Ahhh sweet sweet sweet music.
They are also calling for the heads of No Pete and Reggie.

They are convinced their appeal will work.

Doesn't this work much like an NFL player appealing a conduct policy suspension? I.E. you are appealing to the persons who made the initial decision?

To be fair they took them from a 3-pete to now a nothing.
Wonder if USC fans will feel like Petey jumped ship or if his leaving was a coincidence

My Trojan brethren,
This is what I feared all along. This is so, so, so, unfair to the USC upperclassmen players, student body and fan base. If there was video of PC or coaches attempting to buy players, I wouldn't contest these sanctions. But it appears the NCAA got tired of hearing for four years USC was going to get off. (Too bad they don't have to look into Rojo's eyes. Not only did they cost him and the other juniors and seniors a bowl game, but also any possibility of awards.) To be honest, as much as I love PC and Reggie, it'll be hard to ever look at them the same way. (I never thought I could type those words until today.) I don't know where we go from here, but I see the next two years being under 8-9 wins. Kiffin and Co. now will have to earn their paychecks to keep this team motivated.

They are also anticipating a civil court hearing, which they think will wipe it all it out.
Civil court makes it worse, imo.
And the appeal process may save your bowl this year, but it will only drag it out more.

yeah if they go to civil court reggie bush, his family, his managers, and pete carroll will be deposed
reggie paid a LOT of fricking money to scumbags to avoid doing just that

Yup. It would grant the NCAA subpoena power. They could force all of the parties into depositions.
They could end up with even more information than they already have.

agree, Reggie, Pete and everyone else involved will lobby hard against this course of action.
Think the NCAA lean heavily against them doing this.
Plus why should they, yes a 2 year ban and the scholarship reduction is harsh, but if Lane is as good as the USC fans think he is then this should only put off his first NC by 2 years.
This is far from a death penalty for a school like USC.

Another good one:
"Reggie Bush more of a pariah than OJ Simpson" "I wish Reggie nothing but bad fortune in the NFL"

Sorry to hear that. College football is much better with USC being elite.
Excellent timing for OU and UT to attempt to expand their Southern California recruiting efforts.

Think about this, if Saban wasn't available when Bama had an opening where would Bama be right now? These sanctions will hurt.

From everything reported on this story, if true, this is still a lighter sentence then they deserved.
I'm actually curious to see what the USC basketball team gets. The accusation there was the coach hand delivered money to get a player

And Kiffin is no Saban.
