Ok so according to the analyst guy on espn, the player is defenseless when going to the ground…but he’s reaching for the end zone?!?! So how the hell are you supposed to legally defend that? Is the defender supposed to just lean down and yell at him or something? Frick that nonsense.

This is why the targeting rule is bullshite.
The dangerous situation was created by the offensive players.
The offensive player should be ejected and PSU should have gotten the 15-yard penalty.
This is just like when the offensive player crunches down towards a hit and creates H2H contact

The offensive player was being tackled prior to the "targeting" hit, so I don't see how you can blame him.
