Hey there man, good to see you. Was worried Saturday got to you

Saturday became comical early.
Aim 40 yards left, end up in lake right of the fairway. Hit ball and rely on everyone else to tell me where it went

total opposite for me. I can not even look at a closed face wood let alone hit them

That r11s is a bomb maker.
This fact cannot be disputed.

I switched back to my normal driver head and 3 wood and only hit one errant tee shot at Abita. That's only because I was trying to fade the ball around a corner and I don't even purposely fade well, bro

Only problem I had Saturday was the douchebag in a hoody and shorts picking up my ball TWICE. First one I drove it through my fairway into theirs, but I didn't hit into them. They were on the tee and he obviously picked it up. Drove around looking but never found it. Two holes later I flew the green on par 3. I pull up and he's picking up two balls. Obviously he duffed his tee shot which was the one ball. The other clearly wasn't his. I yell, "Hey, was that a Taylormade?" Uhhhh yeah. We had no idea where it came from. "Do you hit Taylormade? Then don't pick it up." Uhhhh sorry, here you go. Then he sat there with his grandpa and watched me chip it. "Wow great shot" Whatever thief, move along. Luckily for him I had my daughter with me. I regret ending my membership. Poor people...sigh...

My bad dude. Quit spraying shots and I won't pick them up

That would be bad enough, but these were both dead straight. The one by the green really pissed me off. It was literally 5 yards over the back.

Are you encouraging her to wanna hit? Or is she just along for the ride?
Mark those TaylorMade JJ, with something like, "No, not yours!"

She hit 7 iron shots in the fairway, chipped and putted on every hole. She got up and down 3 times out of 9 and only 3 putted once. Not bad for a 7 year old that has never played before, only hit some on the range.

She's got a junior set?
I remember the range session.

Yeah I bought a set for them to share. They wanted their own but I explained there's only room for 2 bags and 1 of those will be mine.

Just starting out, got a set of decent clubs from my friend who never plays anymore.
I've played about 2 - 18 hole courses (City Park and Stonebridge) in my life and did miserable both times
Anyone have any recommendations for a true beginner?

Ben Hogan's 5 lessons will teach you grip/stance/swing for 10-12 bucks. Great book and will help a lot if you're on a budget. Read it and hit the range. If money is no concern, get lessons from the start. They will help a lot and will speed up your pace of improvement vastly since you won't ingrain bad habits.

After 20 years of baseball it's damn near impossible. That's why all the baseball players who are good are pitchers
